应被称为」("… that should be called"),但大家常常搞不清楚,这个 aen 到底扮演什麼角色。 被称为」("… that is called")。 不用再用新辛达林的 *dân 或 *dan 来表示「但是」了,现在我们有 ach 5. ephola- 不再需要用新辛达林的 *ren- 来表示「记得、记忆」,现在新的动词 ephola- 可能有「记得、记忆、记诵、保存」("to hold in memory, to remember, to recite, to preserve")的意思 6. eno「仍然」("still") 7. thor thor 这个奇怪的字,很可能是连系动词 na- 的第三人称复数的不规则变化! No aer i eneth lín……
Orchrist Veren! (Sindarin) A Obel Dithen Bethlehem A obel dithen Bethlehem Ir rethil einnínen Or îdh lîn alphrestannen a phen-ol I ngîl dhínin tharwaer Mi in ethraid vyrn agol Him i galad uireb In estil ah i thyss ned în bain Gevennin mi le ned fuin hen A tinu minuial Go-egleriar i guil aer A h-egleriar linna n' Eru i Chîr A h-Îdh na fîr bo ceven An Meri onna Iesus Covasser Rodyn mi menel Ir fîr olthar, idh Redyn hebir Tir chwiniol i veleth Nan-einnínen, nan-einnínen I ann chwiniol onen! So God imparts to human hearts The blessings of His heaven. No ear may His coming, But in this world of sin, Where meek souls will receive him still, The dear Christ enters in. O holy Child of Bethlehem Descend to us, we pray Cast out our sin and enter in Be born to us today We hear the Christmas angels The great glad tidings tell O come to us, abide with us Our Lord Emmanuel
Quenya Phonology:* Comparative Tables * Outline of Phonetic Development * Outline of Phonology The Comparative Tables are a series of charts laying out the regular correspondences among the sounds of the various languages Tolkien had invented by the late 1930s or conceived of as part of his history of the Elves, including Valarin, Quenya, Lindarin, Telerin, Noldorin, Ilkorin, Danian and Lemberin, as well as the Mannish language Taliskan. There are charts for word-initial and medial consonants and consonant groups, and for long vowels and diphthongs. These are accompanied by Tolkien’s notes on the general phonetic characteristics of the historical development of the languages, and on their phonological types in terms of the "real" languages on which they were modelled. The Outline of Phonetic Development is a detailed description of the historical changes that produced of the sounds of Quenya from the sounds of Primitive Eldarin, including the regular developments in word-initial and medial positions and the distinctive changes of sounds in contact. Phonetic variations among the historical dialects of Quenya are described, as well as those divergent developments occurring in the closely related languages of Lindarin, Telerin and Noldorin, and the influences of these on the dialects of Quenya. The text appears to be from the late 1930s or 1940s. The Outline of Phonology is a revised and expanded version of this text, dating from the 1950s. It describes the phonology of Quenya as primarily the speech of the Noldor in Valinor; but it is similarly arranged, giving variations within the historical dialects of Quenya and divergent developments in the related Vanyarin andTelerin.

[Sindarin 翻译] A Christmas Carol 今天圣诞节前,希望能把 Charles Dickens 的 A Christmas Carol 的大纲翻完 :) 来源:http://tieba.baidu.com/mo/q/checkurl?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gradesaver.com%2Fa-christmas-carol%2Fstudy-guide%2Fsection1%2F&urlrefer=f223bf100400037df48262c11e8d5d9f A Christmas Carol Aerlinn Orchrist* Stave One Narn Min (英文) Jacob Marley, the business partner of Ebenezer Scrooge, died seven years ago. On a dingy Christmas Eve, Scrooge, a cold, unfriendly miser, works in his counting-house while keeping an eye on his clerk, a small man named Bob Cratchit. Scrooge's nephew wishes Scrooge a merry Christmas, but Scrooge answers him with a disdainful "Bah! Humbug!" He believes Christmas is the same as any day of the year, a day in which one must still pay bills. His nephew, Fred, thinks of Christmas as a "kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time." He invites Scrooge to dine with him tomorrow, but his uncle rejects the offer. (Sindarin) Jacob Marley, i vellon gwaith Ebenezer Scrooge, ifír io odog în. Scrooge believes that prisons and workhouses are sufficient, and he dismisses them. Outside, it gets colder. A Christmas caroler tries to sing at Scrooge's door, but the old man scares him away. Scrooge closes up the counting-house and tells Cratchit he expects him to work on Christmas day. Cratchit goes home. (Sindarin) Tad binn dŷg minnar ah anírar dulu Scrooge an gwaith pem mirian. Scrooge sees the dead Marley's face in the knocker of his door until it turns back into a knocker. It gives Scrooge pause, but he resolves not to be frightened. He thinks he sees a locomotive hearse going up the stairs before him. He walks through his rooms to make sure no one is there. After, he warms himself by a small fire. A bell in the room starts to ring, and soon all the other bells in the house do. After some time, the bells stop, and Scrooge hears the cellar-door open.

The Tengwesta Qenderinwa is a grammar of the Primitive Quendian language, which Tolkien imagined to be the common ancestor of the various Elven-tongues spoken in Middle-earth, such as Quenya, Noldorin, Lemberin and Pereldarin (the last two later called Sindarin and Nandorin).  The earliest version of the Tengwesta Qenderinwa was composed in the late 1930s around the same time as the Etymologies, which is a collection of Primitive Quendian bases with examples of Elvish words derived from them.  The Tengwesta Qenderinwa describes the grammatical rules for the structure of these bases and the derivation of primitive stems and words from them.  The grammar gives an "Account of the Simple Component Sounds"; and has sections on "Base-structure"; "Combination of Sounds in Word-formation"; "Suffixion"; and "Accentuation."  There is also an introductory section on the "Descent of Tongues" that  outlines the historical divisions of the various Elven-kindreds and the languages they spoke, all descended from Primitive Quendian.

Irish:爱尔兰语的拼字系统又是另外一套,它最大的特色是「宽对宽,窄对窄」,亦即宽子音邻近的母音一定是宽母音如 a、o、u,而窄子音邻近的子音一定是窄母音如 i、e(爱尔兰语称 caol le caol agus leathan le leathan "slender with slender and broad with broad"),因此你不会看到爱尔兰语里有某个子音同时被宽母音和窄母音包围,否则会无法辨认该子音的属性是宽还是窄,此外爱尔兰语字首有很多 bh、mh、gh、 dh、ch、fh 等二合子音,字尾有很多 -amh、-dh、-ad、-gh、-ch,故很好辨识,如 cheannaigh、múinteoir、 rachaidh、snámh、mhac 等等。 再来提到楼上说的精灵语 Sindarin,它是托尔金以威尔斯语为基础发展出来,所以保留些许威尔斯语的特色,如字首有很多 gw、lh(威尔斯语的 ll)、rh、dh(威尔斯语的 dd)、ng,其他如字中的 -lch-、-lph-、-nn-、-mm-,或字尾的 -eg、-eth、- ed、-ad、-en、-nd、-nt、-mb、-mp 等,以及大量出现的定冠词或代词 i、in,及副词 o(d)、an、na、or、en、ed 等,都是很好辨识的方法。
