Maseke雄狮兄弟的来历猜想2020年2月16日 Maseke雄狮兄弟已经很久不更新了。我认为一直有病的那头雄狮可能不在了，Maseke雄狮应该只剩下4头了。至于Naseke雄狮的来历，保护区也没有提是谁的后代。只是说2017年下半年大约6头4岁的雄狮左右流浪到这里。随着这几头雄狮的成熟，我认为这组联盟，其实就是被4头马其顿雄狮击败的M黑鬃雄狮的儿子。

马其顿雄狮—犀利眼的大麻烦2019年3月27日马其顿雄狮—犀利眼的牛结核病，似乎最近爆发了，左前腿肘部的肘包越来越大，导致犀利眼雄狮的鬃毛掉了太多，整张脸迅速的衰老下去，不熟悉的还以为至少得有10岁了，实际还不到8岁。 5张图片都是犀利眼雄狮，马其顿雄狮和狮群根本不缺少食物，但是它的鬃毛掉了太多。。。图1可以很清楚的看到左前腿的肘包。

The pride chased a group of 9 lionsoff of a Buffalokill and everyone got a chance to see the cubs learning the ins and outs offeeding on a kill. Multiple times one of the females had to put the cub inplace as it was fighting for food. Eventually the cubs lost interest in themeat and resorted to chasing vultures. The Kudyela lionesses have just been focusing on making a sufficient amount of kills, now that the cubs are getting older by the day the demand for food is also increasing. Mbiri兄弟返回Timbavati找到妻儿2018年10月27日 The lions dominated this week. The Mbiri males are finally back in the area and this is a very welcome sight. They showed their dominance by chasing the River Pride off the buffalo they had just taken down. The Zebenine lionesses and their two cubs promptly joined the Mbiri males to partake in the kill. Guests were then treated to two full days of prime viewing. It was great to see the males spending so much time with the pride. This enabled some great interactions between them and their cubs. Sadly the males decided to head off back east in the location of the Mayambula Pride. It appeared that the cold winds blowing across the terrain last week got too much for some of the Mayambula pride. Three of them were found taking shelter within a Terminalia thicket. The Ross lionesses were fairly scarce, only being spotted once in the far west. We soon came across one of the Avoca males lying beside the remains of a buffalo calf which he must have brought down during the night. Kudyela狮群损失1只幼崽2018年10月23日 TheMachaton males along with the Kudyela pride and their cubs were quitebusy during the week. The cubs are getting bigger and so they eat more and morewith every meal, forcing the pride to make regular kills. We did not see themon many kills but we could definitely see that they ate during some nights. Thelioness with her 3 cubs have not yet joined the rest of the pride but surelythat should happen within the next week or so. Her cubs are looking very healthyand she is making regular kills and so providing more than just the essentialmother’s milk. Ezulwini Game Lodges continue to enjoy prolific sightings of big game and predators. Their incredible camera trap has been set-up in a prime position and has certainly captured plenty of data. The results from this Balule camera trap always have a tale to tell. Umkumbe Safari Lodge have a few unusual sightings recently, one of which included that of a giant emperor moth. Umkumbe continues to see ample leopard sightings and have even been rewarded with sightings of the southern pride of lions. Chacma Bush Camp came into contact with the Maseke coalition of lions, and continue to spot these big boys on a regular basis. 南部狮群回忆2018年10月21日 there is one thing that stays deep in our hearts, every ranger that has worked here, past and present will forever remember these two words, the many conversations had around the fire, over drinks, with guests, family, friends, and that is “Southern Pride.” One of the largest prides at certain times in the reserve, not the most successful but the most spectacular. They have been through such hard times, finally returning to a stable state and sadly a change in coalition of dominant territorial males and it starts all over again. At one stage in my three years as a ranger here, I witnessed twenty-one lions forming this pride, which included five fully grown females, fourteen cubs and the dominant males know as the Charleston males. Sadly, two years later they are down to five individuals that have survived the change of time. Some may feel broken hearted, hurt, sore and sad, however, these things happen, its nature, its wild, everything is born, everything must die eventually. The Southern Pride will be back to what it was, I am certain of it. The five individuals that have made it through this struggle have smashed all odds and from here on out, things can only get better. Timbavati保护区一周大更新2018年10月13日 The month of September was a fruitful one for game viewing at Umlani Bushcamp. The drier weather this winter has brought about many great sightings. As a result of the game seeking out the few remaining waterholes, there has been a hive of activity around these spots. The dry bushveld leaves little coverage for the animals to conceal their whereabouts, therefore there have been ample sightings while the rangers traverse the open plains. The Zebenine pride has been seen almost everyday. The two cubs are thriving and getting bigger with each viewing. With most of their time spent in the South with the Myambula pride, the Mbiri males have only been seen a couple of times this month. However guests were fortunate enough to see a giraffe kill that was taken over by the Myambula pride. It wasn’t far from camp so access to the site was fairly easy. They spent time drinking from the waterhole directly in front of camp, with the sighting being amplified by the entrance of the females who joined shortly after the males arrived. The Mbiris didn’t stick around for long, and soon made their way back to the south. They stayed away for quite some time. Finally, after a long wait, guests were awoken by the distinctive sound of a lion's roar. After a quick dash to head out on drive, the Mbiri males were located just outside of camp. It was a welcome sighting to start the day. The Ross pride lionesses were seen a few times over the month. First on a kudu kill that appeared to have been taken off a leopard, then resting out in the open one morning with the Black dam male. This large male originated from a reserve in the west and has recently been seen mating with the Ross females. We still have a few regular visitors and a couple of locals hanging about, but there are so many lions crossing over from the neighbouring reserves at the moment. There are a few repeat sightings of the Mbiris, Ross females and River Pride, but they tend to be unpredictable. The most recent sighting – and an exciting one – is that of the Black Dam male lion mating with one of the Ross Pride lionesses! So, how did we get to this major 2018 shift with the Panthera leos of the Klaserie? It was crystal clear which cats dominated the territory aroundnThambo Tree Camp and Africa on Foot, and these dominant powerhouses left little space to accommodate newcomers. They were guardians of the traverse, leaving no grass or shrub unmarked. Sightings were always somewhat predictable, but we all knew that when something is too stable in the world of lions, nature decides to rock the boat for dramatic effect. Circa 2016 we began to see small but significant changes with sightings in the reserve, starting with the notorious Hercules Pride and the emergence of the brave Mbiri coalition. The ruthless Hercules Pride provided guests and guides with bit of action-packed drama on a regular basis. The Hercules Pride were mainly confined to the western border of the Africa on Foot traverse. They’re the type of lions that flew under the radar and attempted to remain as unnoticed as possible. These 2 adult females and her 4 youngsters proved themselves to be silent but violent lions, and showed their ruthless ways when they killed off the Ross Pride Breakaway’s young cubs. These beasts would happily ward off any lion laying claim to their small pocket of bushveld and even took to beating up the Ross Pride Breakaways, leaving them humiliated and battle-scarred. During this period of time we also had the appearance of Mabande, the Mapoza males, and the lone Sumatra male. They all enjoyed a few mating sessions with the Ross Pride ladies, and a few of them tested the territory of the Trilogy kings; but the Trilogy boys always emerged victorious. The arrival of the Mbiri male coalition wreaked havoc. The boys sauntered across from the Manyaleti Game Reserve and made it clear that it was their time to shine. They became involved in a few scuffles with the Trilogy and sent them on their way with a few physical scars and wounded pride. The Mbiris proved to be a forthright force and ensured the Trilogy had major competition on their hands. They were the brave imposters seeking to take over the Trilogy’s coalition and posed a massive threat to this king-like Trilogy and their dynasty. This was the period of time we bore witness to scuffles and showdowns between the Trilogy and Mbiris.
