古典时期当然没这个词的。只是近代人新造的，牛津英典给 industrial 的词源是：Occurs in end of 16th c.; then app. not till late in 18th. The early instances, as well as 15th c. F. industrial, appear to be independent formations from L. industria + -al1.

我在google上查了一下，发现这个词还是存在的，虽然不多，254个，应该不是笔误。

也有可能是一个常见错误。因为我一点都不会拉丁语，完全不知道该怎么调查。非常感谢大家。我现在基本感觉它是拉丁语，而且是形容词。以前之所以觉得不会是作者写错，是觉得如果我自己在文章中拽英文，一定会仔细确认一下加得对不对。当然这位很有名的作者也许很随意。
