Taiwan's main opposition party leader Lien Chan says it is a cross-Straits ambition to continuously boost the Taiwan economy and further develop the Chinese mainland into a well-off society.Kuomintang Chairman Lien Chan made the statement in Nanjing during a speech delivered immediately after paying respects at the Mausoleum of the party founder Dr. Sun Yat-sen. Lien Chan said that both sides of the Taiwan Straits should "use all possible energy to strive towards achieving peace" against the backdrop of the current "stalemate" in cross-Straits relations. Although security was tightened at the Mausoleum due to Lien Chan's visit, the Mausoleum's administration did not ban common tourists from visiting the site on Wednesday. 

It'd be splendid if all the leaders in Taiwan had the same intentions as him.
