【新闻】Away form could be better... Falko Götz: Room for improvementIf the Bundesliga table was only made up of games played away from home, Hertha would occupy a relegation spot. After only gathering 7 points on their travels so far this season, it is obvious that the fine home form of the capital city club is keeping them in contention for the lucrative European places ata the end of the season. After the 0-2 away defeat to high-flying Schalke, Falko Götz and Co. know exqactly where they stand, and that anything better than 5th place is looking increasingly unlikely. Those seven away points represent the worst record since Hertha were promoted from the second division back in 1997. Too harmless, concentration lapses at set pieces and individual mistakes. The list of reasons for Hertha's poor away form is a long one. Götz says that he can build on his side's first half performance in Gelsenkirchen on Saturday, but is he whistling in the dark? Sure, Gimenez missed a gilt-edged opportunity to put Hertha ahead on 7 minutes, but Bastürk was sorely missed in midfield. The midfield reacted well enough, but was never able to stamp their authority on the game. Götz: "The plan was to share the workload between Pal Dardai and Mineiro and I think Dardai did especially well." The dream of playing Champions League football remains just that- a dream, because with only one away win this season (Dortmund), 4 draws and 6 defeats, they have the worst away record in the Bundesliga alongside relegation-haunted Gladbach. As Hertha won promotion from division 2 in 1997, after 11 away games away from home in their first season back in the top flight they had 9 points. In the 2003/4 season as Hertha narrowly avoided relegation they had ten points away from home at this time. At the end of that season Hertha collected 15 points on their travels. In order to beat those low benchmarks, Götz and his side must gather another 10 away points in the remaining away games against Stuttgart, Gladbach, Nürnberg, Bochum, Aachen and Frankfurt). Another thing worrying Hertha fans is the fact that the capital city side has been drawn away to VfB Stuttgart in the DFB Cup quarter final on February 28th. Götz again: "We will throw everything forward in that game. It is an all or nothing clash, and you only have once chance to reach the semi-finals."

Hertha made a winning start on Saturday afternoon as the Bundesliga finally got underway again, beating local rivals VfL Wolfsburg 2-1 in round 18, in front of 40,272 in the Olympic stadium. A Marko Pantelic penalty in the 88th minute, secured victory for the capital city side,after their former defender Alex Madlung had put the visitors ahead, before Gimenez equalised. Home coach Falko Götz sprang no surprises with his line-up ahead of the visit of the Wolves' to Germany's capital city. Danish goalkeeper Kevin Stuhr Ellegaard made his Bundesliga debut for Hertha in place of the injured Fiedler, while Yildiray Bastürk returned from injury in the playmaker role.The main talking point though, was how the former Hertha playmaker Marcelinho would play on his first visit to Berlin, after he was sold to Trabsonspor in Turkey last summer, after spending five years at Hertha. As expected, the Brazilian was whistled and booed by Hertha fans every time he touched the ball. The irony of football...It was slightly ironic,as the visitors took to the field of play in a blue strip (Hertha's usual colour before the season started) instead of their usual green and white kit. Hertha made the better start and the Wolves skipper Kevin Hofland was forced to clear his lines after only 3 minutes, as the Bundesliga joint top scorer (before kick off) Marko Pantelic threatened. After that opening encounter, the home side had more of the possession, without being able to capitalise on it. Striker Christian Gimenez, was thwarted by a saving Wolfsburg leg on 14 minutes. Madlung opens the scoring On 17 minutes, the Wolfsburg skipper Hofland had a gilt edged chance to fire his side ahead, but missed the target from some 11 metres out. Moments later though, the visitors took the lead as a low free kick by Marcelinho was fluffed by the debutant Hertha keeper Ellegaard, who looked on in horror as the ball fell to the feet of the former Hertha central defender Alex Madlung, mopping up from a couple of metres out to give Wolfsburg the lead. The man-mountain defender celebrated his goal with the travelling Wolves fans situated to the left of the goal where he scored. Gimenez- goal number 6! Hertha needed some time to recover from that setback, but not too long! On 27 minutes, Bastürk combined with Fathi at a short corner.The newly-capped German international croosed into the Wolfsburg box to the Brazilian Gilberto, who sold the visiting defence a dummy by allowing the ball to pass through to the better-positioned Gimenez, who equalised for the home side from 11 metres out. The tempo diminished somewhat and it took until shortly before the break for the game to come to life again, as Pantelic tested the Wolves keeper Jentzsch with a header, which the visiting keeper dealt with with a really world class save, tipping the ball over the bar. As Pantelic fed his strike partner Gimenez in the Hertha area, the Argentinean took advantage of an outstrethcd leg provided by Hofland.The referee pointed to the spot, and Pantelic sent Jentzsch the wrong way to give Hertha a somewhat fortunate victory on 86 minutes.That goal leaves Pantelic sitting pretty at the top of the Bundesliga top-scorer tree with 11 strikes. 【新闻】Joe Simunic misses opening training session Preparation for the second half of the 2006/7 season got underway on Wednesday (03.1.2007), as 24 players reported back for training. Hungarian midfielder Pal Dardai led the players out at 2.20 pm. Where is big Joe? The last player out of the changing rooms was the Serbian striker Marko Pantelic. The 250 or so fans present asked themselves why one player was conspicuous by his absence. Croatian defender Joe Simunic was not in attendance and the fans were asking themselves whether or not big Joe was doing a "Marcelinho", extending his holiday without Hertha's permission. A short time later the situation was explained. The plane connections from Australia where the defender had spent Christmas with his parents meant that Simunic could only arrive in Berlin after the opening training session and that the club knew and approved of it. Back to work lads!The squad was split into two groups at the start of the opening session of the new year; one was led by Co-trainer Andy Thom, the other by the fitness coach Carsten Schünemann. One player jogged on his own away from the rest of the squad. Midfield general Yildiray Bastürk has still not fully recovered from his thigh injury and was only out of the changing rooms for 30 minutes. Pantelic branches out..! The first Hertha goal of 2007 was not scored within the opening half hour, but shortly afterwards, as the youngsters Ashkan Dejagah and Patrick Ebert combined well down the right. The teams taking part in the competition are the hosts Nürnberg, VfB Stuttgart, Kaiserslautern, Greuther Fürth and Wacker Burghausen. Tickets for the event have sold out, but fans can still watch it because the DSF TV channel will show it live from 5.15 pm.

ZT 赫塔球员参加拳击训练赫塔球员接受培训由于本周末是国际足联的国际比赛日，德甲柏林赫塔队非国家队球员集体参观了当地最大的一家Schmeling拳击俱乐部，包括马塞利尼奥、吉尔伯托等球员都学习了拳击的一些基本技巧，并且与俱乐部的教练进行了简单的对抗。看来球队在上周惨败给拜仁慕尼黑之后，俱乐部为了让球员尽快摆脱实力的困扰，特别安排了这样一次有趣的涉外活动.
