peter shaved his hair due to the hot series prison break. hoho Peter Gade will fight for a spot in the final with Wong Choong Hann while Kenneth Jonassen will have to defeat Chen Yu in order to get an all-Danish final for the Copenhagen Masters 2006.TV series have their advantages. Peter Gade couldn’t agree more after his wife Camilla finally agreed to let him shave his head although she had been very reluctant. But after she saw the TV series “Prison Break”, she obviously changed her mind. “She saw the show and said it didn’t look so bad on the hero. On my part, I had been wanting to do this for a long time,” Gade said with a wink. Not clean-shaven, but quite close….Yet apart from the look, the Dane showed the same type of form he has for the past months against Simon Santoso of Indonesia. Very much in control of the match, it was only when he slowed down his pace that the young wonder saw an opportunity and took the second game from the Dane. “I am still satisfied even if I lost a game tonight. We have been working on little things to improve my game with my coach, for example in the variation of my attacks from the back line, and this was a good opportunity for me to try them out. It’s not a complete revolution in my game, but little things which can make me progress,” said Gade. “Next year will be very challenging as my priority, of course, will be the Super Series. One cannot be at the top at all times but I will try to work towards the first two tournaments and the world championships in Malaysia,” said Gade.Gade will face an old friend for Thursday’s second group match after Wong Choong Hann also won over Simon Santoso in another appealing match – 21/19 in the deciding game. Both players know each very well with a clear advantage for the Dane in their last few confrontations. But it will be, no matter what, a splendid battle as the Malaysian has gained some of the physical strength he was clearly lacking during their last match in the Denmark Open.
Copenhagen Masters is part of the preparations Copenhagen Masters is part of the preparations21.12.2006Since “Denmark Open” in the beginning of November Peter had a lot of time for doing work on different areas in practice. And from next week on (27.-29th of December) Peter is fighting for his seventh title at “Copenhagen Masters”. Birthday in Rome “It's been a very nice time - having the opportunity to work with the specific areas I want to improve. At the same time it's been nice for me to spend a lot of time with my family”. During this period Peter also celebrated his 30th birthday together with some friends in the romantic city in Rome. Peter also took part in the team matches for Team Århus. But his club missed a spot in the play-offs in the Danish league. “Of course we wanted to take part in the play-offs. We came very close but at the same time we have to be realistic and I think our team did great in this season. We have a lot of young players and we made some great results during this season. The top-four all have better players than we have and it would have been a sensation if we made it to the play-offs”. Against Wong Choong Hann and Simon Santoso Next up is Copenhagen Masters at Falconer Centre. The draw for the invitational tournament has been made and Peter will play against Indonesian Simon Santoso and Wong Choong Hann of Malaysia in the group stage. “For me Copenhagen Masters is a part of the preparations for the SuperSeries in Malaysia and Korea in January. Of course I would like to win and do well but have to accept that I'm aiming for a peak in mid-January. But I'll do as well as I can. I love this tournament and everytime I'm on the court at Masters I feel good", Peter explains. "I'm a bit disappointed because both Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei withdrew their participation in the tournament. It would have been great badminton to show at Christmas time in Copenhagen - but again I kind of expected it because of the tough schedule for the Asian players”.
