Copenhagen Masters is part of the preparations21.12.2006Since “Denmark Open” in the beginning of November Peter had a lot of time for doing work on different areas in practice. And from next week on (27.-29th of December) Peter is fighting for his seventh title at “Copenhagen Masters”. Birthday in Rome “It's been a very nice time - having the opportunity to work with the specific areas I want to improve. At the same time it's been nice for me to spend a lot of time with my family”. During this period Peter also celebrated his 30th birthday together with some friends in the romantic city in Rome. Peter also took part in the team matches for Team Århus. But his club missed a spot in the play-offs in the Danish league. “Of course we wanted to take part in the play-offs. We came very close but at the same time we have to be realistic and I think our team did great in this season. We have a lot of young players and we made some great results during this season. The top-four all have better players than we have and it would have been a sensation if we made it to the play-offs”. Against Wong Choong Hann and Simon Santoso Next up is Copenhagen Masters at Falconer Centre. The draw for the invitational tournament has been made and Peter will play against Indonesian Simon Santoso and Wong Choong Hann of Malaysia in the group stage. “For me Copenhagen Masters is a part of the preparations for the SuperSeries in Malaysia and Korea in January. Of course I would like to win and do well but have to accept that I'm aiming for a peak in mid-January. But I'll do as well as I can. I love this tournament and everytime I'm on the court at Masters I feel good", Peter explains. "I'm a bit disappointed because both Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei withdrew their participation in the tournament. It would have been great badminton to show at Christmas time in Copenhagen - but again I kind of expected it because of the tough schedule for the Asian players”.
