Piers Morgan has 'big suspenders to fill' when he replaces Larry King

Piers Morgan claims to have 'big suspenders to fill' when he replaces 76-year-old Larry King as the prime-time talk show host on CNN.
The British journalist, who is set to take over from King in the new year, talked with radio show DJ Ryan Seacrest this morning regarding the future takeover.


Larry King is due to step down from his quarter-of-a-century-long hosting role on December 16 after flagging ratings and well publicised marital problems have plagued the aging star.
When discussing his new job this morning on the KISS FM breakfast show, he claimed: 'I'm aware of the history, I'm aware of the legacy.'
'I'm not going to replace Larry King - no one's going to replace Larry King,' he claimed before making his 'suspenders' comment.
Piers recently stood in for another veteran TV host Regis Philbin, co-presenting Live With Regis And Kelly with Kelly Ripa


Morgan, to date, is best known for his work in Britain, where he was the former editor of The Mirror newspaper and a judge on Britain's Got Talent.
He’s also appeared on shows like Celebrity Apprentice and America's Got Talent, and wrote a best-selling book revealing the secrets behind his time as a newspaper editor.
Larry King is believed to be planning some time off after his departure in December but will still host specials for the CNN network.  
His last show will air on December 16th 2010.
