What was your first audition?
It was for Jay Kumitz in Lost in Yorkers.
What was your first professional acting role?
The Pirate King at the Theater Royal, Bath
If you hadn’t become an actor, what would you have done for a living?
I would have been a cop
What is the first show you remember seeing?
The Phantom of the Opera
And the first film?
I think it was The Never Ending Story. But my favorite would be Carom’s way.
Tell us about your most memorable theatrical experience.
When I was playing The Phantom at Her Majesty’s, during the final lair scare my microphone pock decided to come undone. As I was entering from the wings I started to slip down my back. During the whole scene it gradually slid down. Then found its way down my part leg. The last thing I wanted was for this white microphone belt and microphone pack with the wires hanging out to come out on the stage. The scene is far too intense and emotional and the audience by this point are so into the scene, too. At the time I kept thinking I’ll be hoisted (???) if this thing comes out on stage. But it started to slide further and further. I had to actually start holding my leg to catch it under the pant leg. By this point it looked like I’ve injured myself. The further it slipped the more I played “injured”. It got to my ankles with enough of the scene left for me to basically start hopping on one leg as if I’ve sprained my amid(???看不清。。。). By this point most people thought I needed medical attention, as I didn’t start the show that way. Stage management was waiting in the wings. Even more embarrassing was I decided to keep tire limp for my bow as I didn’t want the audience to feat I was cheating them or messing around, Mortified
Do you have any theatrical superstitions?
No. I just try and prepare myself as much as I can so I can take anything that’s thrown at me.
What’s the last book you bought? And the last CD?
Hunter S Thompson’s Hell’s Angels was the book and I bought two CDs at the same time. We Are The Same by The Tragically Ho and the EP soundtrack to Sons of Anarchy.
Tell us about five people (alive or resurrected you’d invited to your fantasy dinner party)
Al Pacino, Gordon Dawdle (Tragically Hip lead singer). Jaime Murray, Pobert Downie Jr and Jesus… he’d have a few skies (??), I’m sure.
What’s surprised you lately?
Landing Phantom in Love never dies.
Although I believe in myself and work hand at developing my craft, getting this role was pretty amazing for me. I’m very grateful. I think this opportunity to create something and hopefully continue an amazing legacy will be something I’ll always be thankful for the massive support I received leaving the role of Phantom in the original show was pretty amazing and overwliming (????) as well. I was also quite surprised when David Haye won the belt over MXXXX (????) Valier. That was inspiring and surprising.

又是我一字一字地打的。。杯具。。
