Paola Rey: 'I am a super-passionate woman and I give my all' The extroverted Jimena Elizondo, who will soon visit Spain, states: 'Right now my biggest dream is to be a mother and wife' Paola Rey is one of the most-valued actresses in Colombia. The Colombian actress --Jimena Elizondo on Pasión de Gavilanes-- talks exclusively for the magazine ¡Qué me dices! about her career as an actress, her passion for cars and love. "Right now I'm single... sometimes it's important to give youself time for yourself," she admits. -Paola, have you ever lived a love as passionate as that of Jimena for Óscar Reyes? Yes, but in my way. I have lived the passion, but not the lie. I've never had to make up a boyfriend or hide [something] from my family. -What is the real Paola Rey like away from the cameras? I'm super-passionate, I love what I do, I am whole-hearted, I give my all and I am responsible. The first love scene between Jimena and Óscar in the waterfalls. It was really embarrassing. Juan A Baptista --Óscar Reyes-- and I hadn't been working together very much and we practically didn't know each other and there were both were, naked in the river! We were taping in the mountains and a long time passed before they shouted "cut!" and came down to look for us. 'I got to know Juan A Baptista --Óscar-- taping naked together in the river' Paola really enjoyed herself on 'Pasión de gavilanes'. -How is your relationship now with the rest of the stars of Pasión...? Stupendous, because taping Pasión... it was really nice, I made a lot of friends. Afterwards, each has gone on with his or her life: Mario went to Miami, Michel to New York, and I've just traveled to Venezuela with El Gato to promote La Mujer en el Espejo. -Well, it was said that you had problems with Danna García (Norma Elizondo). I didn't have problems with anyone. Danna is really beautiful and one of the most talented women in Colombia. -How is your love life? Right now I'm single, but just fine. Sometimes it's important to give yourself some time for yourself, to be alone to mature and get to know yourself better. 'I never had problems with Danna García' -It is said that you broke up with your boyfriend, actor Jorge Cárdenas, because of Paulo Quevedo, the villain in LMEEE. [Paulo] didn't have anything to do with it. [Jorge and I] didn't break up because of third parties but because the relationship had run its course. Jorge and I had already broken up when Paulo and I started promoting the novela we taped in 2004. In ten years of acting, I have never caused any scandals. -I know you're a big fan of auto racing... I've even taken part in some. I fixed up my car so I could race it and I have trophies. -Do you know race car driver Fernando Alonso? Not personally, but I'd love to [meet him]. He's a great driver and deserves to win that World Cup. -What is your biggest dream? Right now my biggest dream is to be a mother and wife. -And wouldn't you like to work in Spain? Yes, I love the films they make in Spain and I'd like to work with [director Pedro] Almodóvar. I admire him a lot, although he doesn't remember we were introduced at the San Sebastián Film Festival in 2002. -Do you think you will come back to visit us again? Yes, soon.
