A long summer break ended for NASA’s New Horizons on Sept. 11, as the spacecraft “woke” itself on schedule from a five-month hibernation period.（新地平线号的暑假于9月11日结束，探测器根据计划结束了为期五个月的休眠阶段）
Signals confirming that New Horizons had executed on-board computer commands to exit hibernation reached mission operations at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab in Laurel, Maryland, via NASA’s Deep Space Network station in Madrid, Spain, at 12:55 p.m. EDT. Mission Operations Manager Alice Bowman of APL confirmed that the spacecraft was in good health and operating normally, with all systems coming back online as expected. （新地平线号确认结束休眠的信号于美国东部时间12：55PM到达约翰霍普金斯大学的应用物理实验室，信号是通过DSN的马德里站传回的。控制中心确认探测器工作正常，所有系统按正常计划开机。）
Over the next three days, the mission ops team will bring the spacecraft into “active” mode, preparing it for a series of science-instrument checkouts and data-collection activities that will last until mid-December. “It’s another working science cruise through the Kuiper Belt for New Horizons,” Bowman added.（接下来几天，任务团队将把探测器调入启动模式，接下来准备打开一系列的科学仪器和接受部分数据到12月中旬。鲍曼补充：这是新地平线号的另一个柯伊伯带的巡航轨道。）
