Despite not being up for any Grammys this year, Adele scored a social media victory as her song “All I Ask” hit No. 1 on the real-time Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 chart after she performed the cut during the 58th annual Grammy Awards on Monday (Feb. 15.)
The song, from her mega-selling album 25, became the most shared and discussed song on Twitter for two hours. Adding to the buzz: technical difficulties, which caused many Twitter users to weigh in on the performance.
After the telecast, Adele took to Twitter to explain the backing piano’s microphones had fallen onto the piano strings.
