Grown up in long island city, New York (纽约州长岛市长大)种族背景: Half Jewish half Spanish (一半犹太裔一半西班牙裔)教育背景: Junior in college ( 大学三年级在读)年龄: 21编者注:这位同学思维灰常滴跳跃,原因在于他是一个非常注重自己“精神体验”的人,有一次和他一边聊天一边在中央公园闲逛,我们从入口走到出口,他一直都在描述他前天晚上做的一个很有“灵异体验”的梦,要我帮忙分析梦见大蜘蛛吞掉他的头意味着什么-_-|||

Q:And will you go to Beijing for the Olympic Games if situation (your schedule and budget) allows? Why and why not? A:Emmm, I would rather go to Beijing not during the Olympics. I wanted to see what ordinary Beijing looks like.Do I need a reason? Well, china, as well as Beijing, is like the world that is so far away yet so developed that I have no idea about. The image of Beijing on my mind right now is groups of people walking in highly commercialized dynamic streets. Also, I have never seen a Chinese movie made in urban area of china,so I wanted to see what big cities in china like. I can't tell thedifference of Tokyo and Beijing if you asked me now, but I will know if I went to Beijing someday. Q:How do you imagine the life in China? A:I think everything could be purchased in China because everything is made there. And also, I think there are less extreme social classes there, only peasantry class and professional class. Not like here, if you are a middle class and you lose your job and house, you could become a homeless in one week.I have a friend who lives in the street; I can give you her number if you want to interview her. Q: Please give a few words to describe your perception of China as a world power. A:I think china is leaded by a very competitive and global oriented government, and it is gaining more and more respect and attention now, which is a good thing, because people care when they feel something is powerful. For me, I would like to know more information about china ifI get the chance.

Junior in college ,majored in international studies 为人很注重manners(姑且称礼仪)

Q: What are the things cross your mind when think of China/Chinese?(such as things you most exposed to in daily life)问:想到中国的时候你一般会想到什么? 答:You. 你啊!(放电ing*o*)And the fantastic food, Chinese people do know their ways in the kitchen. Q:Can you name a few channels you get information on China? (Movie,Newspaper, etc.) Q: And what impression you have on China/Chinese culture based onthese information? I felt Chinese are with very high moral standard, they respectmanners and orders, not like people here, sometimes I have to curb the urge to straight up some stupid kids I met. Chinese in a general, will consider in many perspectives that if what they say or do will potentially hurt others, for them, they think before say something. And for people here, you know, some of them probaly had lost their brain in the subway so they don't bother to think at all. Q: When is the first time you have a Chinese friend? How do you know him/her? A guy in high school, he was pretty cool, his mother wouldn't let him do drugs and he never attempted to, that's pretty amazing to me, how a guy in high school would ever listen to his mother. Q: And what do you think of him in the light of culture nuance? He was pretty quiet most of the time. I mean, being quiet could be both good and bad. When you shared something intimate with a friend, his silence will be appreciated, because friends should be reliable;but when you guys are hanging out in a club, you don't want him to be intense and can't laid back. Q:What you think of the upcoming 2008 Olympic Games held in Beijing? It is a good thing for china and Chinese people to think about their roles and responsibilities on the international stage. I hope Olympics will bring people around world to see and experience more about china, but at the same time I wish China will open up more to let people know about it.

Do you think I am gay?

Q:Can you name a few channels you get information on China? (Movie,Newspaper, etc.) For general information I would go to New York Times, BBC, andWashington post. If I wanted to understand an issue more thoroughlyand more objectively I would go find foreign policies journals such as the< Political Science Quarterly>. Because to understand the inside and out of a certain issue you have to be informed of its history and current state from every aspects. Q: And what impression you have on China/Chinese culture based onthese information? Basically people are the same. In different cultures, there aremaybe differences like how people eat, wear and talk, but people are all driven by the same causes to live every day. To love, to be loved, to avoid death, and to find happiness. I'm sure there are deep supports of every culture. From what we see from the news, even there are negative perspectives about China / Chinese, so what? There are good and bad about every culture. It is easier to point fingers at other country or culture because the bad things are not happening to us, but I would rather think in this way: would us do any better in their position? I will try to think what challenges people have to solve problems than just simply requires them to do that and stop this. It's not fair.

Q:What you think of the upcoming 2008 Olympic Games held in Beijing? Things are getting very controversial these days and I think it is the biggest challenge the Chinese and the government had in years. In the old times China had been more focused on its own development than pleasing the outside world, however the past ten years China'seconomical success had gradually turned around the world's attention, the people had been more interactive with the world, the culture especially the film industry had also attempted to let the outside world to experience the fast evolving Chinese society together. All of these efforts are highlighted by the host of Beijing Olympic Games. The media here always describe the 2008 Olympics as "China's come out party", indicating that by opening up to the world and letting outside world stepping inside, China's potential as the world's major player would be recognized. However things may not be as what Chinese people expected, it is not necessary to be disappointed yet because some people are trying to attempt to destroy the party. I mean, we are more into parties, and from my experiences, despite the chaos before the party, you never judge whether you are going to have fun during the party. When something is too big and the more you wanted it to be smooth and the more you care about it, the more likely you would be likely to experience some little disasters at the fore night. But hey, you never know, plenty of parties are fun no matter how many disasters had occurred, let's just see what is going to happen on August.

Q:And will you go to Beijing for the Olympic Games if situation (your schedule and budget) allows? Why and why not? I wouldn't go to Olympics since I am not a big fan of big parties. But I do want to go to China just to see what is happening in China now. Maybe I will go to small towns to see how the ordinary people live and taste the real Chinese food there, and maybe I will have more fun than going to Olympics by which many people are trying mess up. About going to China, to be honest with you, China is not a prior choice of country on the wish list for most people I know here. For them, if they get a chance to travel, they would first like to go back to Europe, their culture roots, to discover what they identify with. Just like every Jewish would like to go to Jerusalem, every Hispanic want to go to Spain.
