The Eyrefield Pride resting after a big meal, basically behaving like house cats. The big guy there is known as the Roller Coaster Male. He*s getting old, which is probably why the two breakaway young males are hanging around nearby, waiting to take over.

Since he just mated, he started roaring to announce his badass-ness to all the lions for miles around. This roar was loud and fierce, unlike the hoarse morning grunts from the video Jo posted (same lion but a couple days later). It gave me chills..
One of two young male lions who broke away from the Eyrefield pride. He has just mated, which is why he looks rather pleased with himself. That*s also why he*s got a cut on his mouth, because she apparently gave him a nice slap afterwards.
