2014年10月17日，印度国产具有携带核弹头能力的”无畏”(Nirbhay)亚音速巡航导弹于2014年10月17日成功从奥里萨邦昌迪普尔的试验场试射，该导弹可以打击700公里以外的目标。
导弹与上午10时04分发射，达到800米高度后，向孟加拉湾进行了急转弯。
一位官员在导弹从地面发射升空后不久称，“该导弹是从综合试验场发射台的一部移动发射装置上试射。”
这名官员称，“导弹飞行的详细资料可从在从雷达和遥测点获得的数据，监测飞行轨迹，以及分析后获得”

“Nirbhay”导弹于2013年3月12日进行首飞，没有达到所需的全部参数，因为观察发现导弹与原定程序发生偏离，飞行不得不中途停止。”
Nirbhay导弹可携带常规以及核弹头，可以攻击700到1000千米远的目标。

Nopes, we need high number of missiles within 300 Km of range (atleast 2500), atleast 2000 in 3500 Km Range and even 1000 will suffice in range of 8000 KM since our prime enemies are China and Pakistan.. 8K KM range missile covers whole china.. anyways we have now capability to develop intercontinantal missiles (ICBMs) but we can utilize that money in science, health and infrastructure
