MODELS of the moment Agyness Deyn and Karen Elson - who star in Mulberry's edgy autumn/winter 2007-8 campaign - and Lily Cole, a fan of the label, will put in an appearance fresh from the couture catwalks at a party to celebrate the launch of the brand's new flagship store on Paris' exclusive Rue St Honore on July 4. The uber-chic event will take place, as the city is in the thrall of the drama and divinity that mark out the Haute Couture shows, in a sprawling town house on the trendy Avenue Montaigne. Creative director Stuart Vevers will play DJ (having brushed up on his skills at the recent Premier Models summer party in London) along with festival favourites Hot Chip - and we hear old friend and Mulberry collaborator Giles Deacon may even try his hand at spinning some tunes on the decks, too. "Agyness is a real supporter of the brand," a Mulberry spokeswoman tells us. Deyn recently confessed in an interview with Vogue that Mulberry's forthcoming maxi Mabel bag - from the autumn/winter collection - was her favourite holdall to travel with. The Paris boutique is the company's first step towards a broader global expansion, with sights firmly set on the US and Far East for future development. (June 19 2007, AM)
