# The Reflected Truth (Ch.1)
## Ch.1 Everlyn and Charlie Simon Clark
### 0700AM
"Beep beep beep... beep beep beep..."
The alarm went on screaming until a very angry hand grabbed on it and turned it off, "bloody alarm... "
"Please don't swear, if mom heard that she wouldn't be pleased, " a voice came from the other side of the wooden door.
"Ugh..." Everlyn Clark covered herself up with her bed sheets and mumbled, "shut up Charlie, you're not my mom..."
"I would not want to be your mom. I am not a female. And I am your brother," as the door opened, Charlie Simon Clark walked in. He stared at his sister (who was now just a pile of bed sheets) and said, "the alarm had gone off. "
"Yes i heard it... and you are not waking me up right now..."
Charlie sighed and pulled his sister out of bed, "come on, you're gonna be late for school..."
"Alright... don't drag me..." Everlyn yawned again, and then she saw her brother looking at her arm, "what, is there something wrong?"

"I am not very sure if something is wrong, but I am sure that there's a cut on your arm."
"Wh...What??? WHERE THE BLOODY HELL IS IT???" Everlyn was woken up immediately: she could not allow anything to ruin her beautiful (or so she calls it) body.
"Here." Everlyn followed Charlie's finger and found a small cut. It was tiny, barely noticable, but Everlyn was sure that it hadn't been there the day before.
"Nah, it's probably nothing," Everlyn shrugged and said to Charles, "it doesn't hurt or anything."
Charlie looked at his sister with uncertainty, but gave it away, "if you say so. Now, please do get changed so we could go downstairs and have breakfast and perhaps catch that school bus which is making huge noises outside the house."
"......"

### 0715AM
Thanks to the constant nagging from Charlie (or in Charlie's words, a kind reminder), the Clark siblings were able to catch the school bus and arrived at the school.
It's the start of a new term, and all the students were very excited. The Clark twins were in the second year at their high school. Charlie was always the top of the class; he was said to have an IQ of 185. Comparing to Charlie, Everlyn was not that bright: she always got the middle grades in all of the courses, with the exception of gym and music, which she excelled at.
The Clarks met up with their friends, Ben and Camille, and they went to their class together. And just when the two almost forgot about the little incident with the cut, Charlie noticed a cut on his own arm. He couldn't help but related the cut to her sister's: both cuts were almost identical, and they most certainly weren't there before. Even though he felt that the cuts weren't ordinary cuts, he did not have any intention to tell his sister.

### 1130AM
The day moved on swiftly, and in no time the lunch break came.
"Hey, did you see that abandoned house near Church Avenue? It looks pretty fun!" Walking into the cafeteria, Ben excitingly said to the Clarks.
"Don't listen to him, it's just a normal house that's been abandoned. Nothing fun about it," Camille gave a despiting look to Ben, then turned to the Clarks, "don't listen to him."
"But I heard that this one is haunted!! With ghosts!!!" Ben exclaimed.
"Really?" Everlyn's attention was caught immediately by the mention of ghosts.
"Although I do recall the last 37 times when you said it was a haunted house but there was actually nothing," Charlie added.
"Well, you can't miss any possibility of ghosts, " Ben said, "remember that time when aliens came to Earth? And that time when all the planets were on the sky? If aliens are real, then I'm sure that we could see some ghosts as well."
"I don't think ghosts and aliens are related in anyway..." said Charlie.

"Don't spoil it, Charlie..." Everlyn hit her brother.
"So are you guys in or not?" Ben asked for the last time.
"Yeah! Of course! Charlie's coming too!"
"......I believe I do have a math private lesson after school, followed by science..."
"No you don't. I don't think you even need to study!!!"
"Alright, after school, Church and West?" Camille asked.
"Fine by me."
"I don't think I have a choice, do I?"
"Then it is decided!"
### 1530AM After school
"Hey, Charlie, are you sure this is the right place?"
Looking at the huge, broken house, the Clarks aren't very sure if they are seeing what they should be seeing.
"According to the address, yes I think so. "

"But where's Ben and Camille? I thought this is where we should be meeting?"
"Oh, I forgot to tell you, I don't think they are coming."
"What?!! When did they say that?!!" Everlyn couldn't think of any reason why the two most adventurous persons could miss out on an outing like this, "I thought they were the ones who invited us?"
"Yeah, I only found out about it when we were on the way here: Camille has had a severe stomachache. Ben escorted her home. I don't think she's gonna be alright for a while, " said Charlie, holding his phone.
"Damn... so what should we do now? Do we go in? " asked Everlyn.
"Well, since we are here and you have that looking-for-fun-in-danger face on, I think we might as well go in."
"That's the spirit! " Everlyn's action-wanting hormones came to work and she was more than a bit excited, "I shall be lead, follow me!" She strided into the old house without even turning back.

Charlie sighed. He put away his phone, and he wasn't planning to tell his secret to his sister: *he was the one who put a bit of soap into Camille's lunch and sent her home.* He knew in his guts that this time it's the business of his sister and him alone. He *had* to protect his sister. The boy made sure that nobody was watching, then he followed his sisters's footsteps to a dark limbo that neither him nor anyone else knew about.
Thanks to a utility key that Everlyn somehow acquired, the Clarks got into the house in no time. The inside of the house, as the twins expected, was even dirtier and crappier: the rooms were covered with dust, the wallpaper was torn on all of the walls, the furniture was all broken, and the windows were shattered to a point where the Clarks didn't quite know how to call them anymore. The twins had to take every step with extra caution so that they won't break the rotten wooden floor and fall into the basement, if there still is one.

The only thing that looked interesting to the Clarks was a mirror. It was not huge, but enough to let Everlyn see her full body plus the spider webs that she brought with her. It had a very old-fashioned bronze frame, and to Charlie's surprise, it was good as new and did not have a single place of rust. The mirror stood in the living room quietly, and it almost gave an impression to the Clarks that it was waiting for them all this time, however long "this time" is.
"Eek, look at all these webs!!! " Everlyn looked at the webs on her body and tried to take them off.
"Well, it is an old house. I wouldn't be surprised if a giant..." Charlie's voice stopped at mid sentence.

"What? " Everlyn looked up and saw her brother looking at the mirror. Is that... **terror** in his eyes?!! She looked at the mirror herself and found what he was looking at: Everlyn's right arm, or the reflection's left arm, was covered in cuts and bruises and blood. Everlyn looked at her own arm, but she did not find any injuries except the one she found that morning. "That, is, very, weird, " Everlyn couldn't help but said.
Realizing something, Charlie came In front of the mirror and saw the reflection's left arm injured as his sister's was.

Couldn't help themselves, the twins raised their right hands and reached to the mirror. When the hands touched the mirror, it shone like a huge 150v lamp and engulfed Everlyn and Charlie. The two destined teens would find a new world appearing in front of their own, human eyes, and they will soon fulfill their destinies......

# The Reflected Truth (Ch.2)
## Ch.2 The World Behind the Mirror

The sun came up from the west side of the cloud-covered London as usual, and shone her light to all the creatures of the Earth like a huge spotlight.
Sensing the warm sunshine on her eyelids, Everlyn Clark opened her eyes. Charlie was right beside her, already up and was having a strode around.
"Where are we? " Everlyn stood up. She couldn't remember anything that happened before they got here.
"The Powell Estate (fictional place in London where Rose Tyler and her family lived), apparently, " Charlie turned around and walked towards her, "but there is one strange thing about it though..."
"What? "
"Look around and tell me what you see..." Charlie said, pointing to a sign, "you might want to check that out for starts..."
And so Everlyn did: she walked down the road and read the sign, "but...it's..."
"Flipped... yes," Charlie finished the sentence, "and in fact, if you look at the roads..."

"The direction is flipped..." Everlyn noticed the weirdness, but she couldn't process all the information, "well, maybe we are in America! A town that looks like the Powells and has all the bloody signs reversed..."
"On the other hand, a more likely conclusion to this is..." Charlie said, with unusual cowardice, "we are in a mirrored world."
"But how is it pos... WHAT THE *DEVIL* IS THAT THING BEHIND YOU?!!!" Everlyn shouted. Charlie turned back as swiftly as he could, and appearing before his eyes are two huge eagle-like creatures looking at them with anger.

"I think we have enraged these creatures! " shouted Charlie.
"I CAN SEE THAT!!! " stepping back, Everlyn yelled back to her brother.
"We have to somehow get to a safe place!!! "
"YEAH LIKE I DIDN'T KNOW THAT!!! NOW RUN YOU IDIOT!!!!!"
The twins started racing down the hill for the nearest forest they could see, but the giant eagle just did not stop chasing them.

"NOW WHAT DO WE DO?!!" Everlyn yelled.
"For the record, I DO NOT KNOW!"
Upon reaching the forest, Charlie tripped and fell onto the ground. Everlyn heard the noise and had to stop, "what are you doing??? The vampire eagles are catching up!!!"
"I know, sister, but I just can't run anymore! " gasping for air, Charlie held her sister and said, "just go, Eve, get some help. Just leave me."
"Not in a million years!!! You are my brother!" Everlyn held onto Charlie even tighter.
For a slit second there was only the sound of giant eagles flapping their huge wings, then Charlie broke the ice,"so we're just gonna sit here and wait for them to kill us?"

"Well that seems to be the only way out. Goodbye Charlie."
"Goodbye Everlyn. It was nice meeting you."
"Haha, you too, big idiot."
The twins closed their eyes and waited for the moment to come. The sound grew closer and closer, until there were gunshots and sounds of giant things falling onto the ground. Did not get what they expected, the Clarks opened their eyes. In front of them, coming out of the smoke, were two giant corpses of the eagles.
Thrilled by what was in front of her, Everlyn stepped up and examined the bodies, "what...happened?"
"I did."
The unfamiliar voice scared both of the Clarks. It was a man's voice, and it was cold, like the sound of a war machine.

"I am the doc...I am Dr. John Smith, " the man took off his hood, revealing his face: he had a young face, comparing to his voice. His hair was dark and a bit wavy, with a bit of dark blue on one side. His eyes were shining like a cat, contrasting the darkness on his body. *A cat,* Everlyn thought, *that's right, a cat! That man's just like a cat, he quietly slips into battle and gives you a most unexpected strike.*
Charlie saw the face of the man too, except he wasn't thinking the same thing as his sister. The man was like a dagger, he striked into the eagles' throats, and he also left a mark on Charlie's heart.
