Thousands vote 'no' on Hong Kong's proposed Sichuan quake donation
As Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying sought to defend his proposal to donate HK$100 million from government coffers to earthquake relief in Sichuan province after Saturday’s massive tremor, a great majority of online readers of the South China Morning Post seemed to have made up their minds about the plan.
The SCMP.com poll asking readers whether Legco should approve the proposed HK$100 million donation has gone viral since early Tuesday morning. By 2.30pm, it had attracted almost 5,000 votes, with 92 per cent of the respondents voting "no". This is among the highest numbers of votes a poll on SCMP.com has ever received.
In the SCMP.com poll, 7 per cent of the readers picked the option of "yes, but with conditions to prevent misuse". Only about 1 per cent of respondents chose an unconditional "yes".

Your donations to China would very likely become
luxurious watches for CCP leaders
gratuity to CCP prostitutes
shopping trips to Hong Kong and Macau
expensive cars for CCP leaders
military funding for oppressing the masses
bullets aimed at your heads
fifty-cent payments for the 50 Cent Party
extravagant estates for bureaucrats
jailing costs for prisoners of conscience
expenses for silencing victims and their families
wages for city enforcers
local CCP factions' expenditure

What kind of idiot would say we should not donate?? I'm not even Chinese and O believe we must help out! People are hurt and the HK government will most likely do a better job of delivering it. I would rather my tax money went to helping people who are hurt or lost their homes than go to people milking welfare.
If it was you hurt you would want someone to come to your rescue.

We trusted them to spend the donation wisely 5 years ago, but they betrayed our trust. So abosolutely no money for them this time. Why don't we donate food from our food banks to them?

Sorry, it is not donation to the victims. It is the donation to the officials of the victims

Hong Kong people should give their regards to the earthquake's victims by delivering the donations , as we are indeed running the same type of blood, but conditions must be applied to prevent the big sheep to make our efforts into ruin ...
