Huawei to double staffin Europe

(Reuters) - Chinese telecoms equipment vendor Huawei Technologies plansto double its employees in Europe over the next few years and is setting up aresearch center in Finlandaimed at developing new smartphones, it said on Monday.

The expansion plans for Europe come two months since U.S. lawmakersalleged that Huawei's equipment could be used for Chinese espionage. Thecompany has also been barred in Australia from tendering in its $38 billion highspeed national high-speed broadband network project due to unspecified securityconcerns.
此前两个月，美国议员指控华为的设备可能被中国用于间谍活动。澳大利亚政府也曾以国家安全为由，禁止华为竞标其380亿美元的高速宽带网络项目。
"Europe has proven to be quite anopen business environment for Huawei," company spokesman Roland Sladeksaid.
华为发言人罗兰德-斯拉德克（Roland Sladek）称，对于华为而言，欧洲拥有相当开放的商业环境。
Huawei said it plans to employ over 14,000 employees in Europe within three to five years, doubling the currentworkforce of around 7,000.
华为表示，在未来三到五年内，计划将欧洲员工数量从当前的约7000名增至1.4万人以上。
It also plans to spend 70 million euros ($91 million) over five years onthe new R&D center in Finland,the company's eleventh center in the region, which will focus on developingsmartphone technology.
此外，华为还计划在未来五年内投资7000万欧元，在芬兰建立一个新的研发中心，主要开发智能手机。这也是华为在欧洲的第11家研发中心。
The company has said it wants to launch new smartphones includingWindows Phone 8 devices, which would add to the competitive pressure on Finnishmobile phone maker Nokia.
华为曾表示将推出新款智能手机，其中包括Windows Phone 8新产品。这将对芬兰手机制造商诺基亚再次构成压力。
Mobile devices accounted last year for 22 percent of Huawei's business,which mostly focuses on routers and other telecoms equipment.

On Monday Huawei declined to give an estimated launch date for a newWindows Phone 8 device, but said its plans were "short term".
华为虽未给出WindowsPhone 8手机的确切发布日期，但表示将会在“短期内”推出。

我觉得他主要还是比较看重诺基亚的根底，想要去挖墙脚~~

华为老任很早以前就说了要做自己的手机系统，所以不可能把微软的WP8当回事，这是看重诺基亚的人才啊~~~妥妥的挖墙脚，有木有人反对的？
那时候就有人猜测，如果华为想要走高端智能手机的道路，最好的方式不是自己重新设计一种系统，而是去并购一种比较完善，但市场潜力被埋没的系统。
我个人觉得，最可能的系统只有一个，那就是MEEGO。
论流畅性可以完爆安卓，论美观性也能上大雅。各位，来讨论下，会发生点啥吧。。~~
