Christina Aguilera Reacts to Dez Duron’s Elimination: “I Might Hop on Over to Team Blake”
Last night’s live results show was a first in The Voice’s history. This season, not every coach is guaranteed a spot in the Final 4, and last night,Christina Aguilera lost her final contestant, Dez Duron.
So what will the diva do now that she’s all dressed up with nowhere to go? Her answer might shock you!
When Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with Xtina on the red carpet, she dished on her three remaining weeks in the competition — including what she won’t be doing.
“Relax? No!” she exclaimed. “You know what, I will want to be entertained and I’ll want to be impressed, obviously. Just taking in the rest of the competition.”
But who will she root for now that her contestants are long gone?
“You know, I happen to really have been enjoying Cassadee Pope,” she admitted. “She’s been kind of a surprise to me, actually, [with] how she’s grown, so I might hop on over to Team Blake for some quick support because I love him like a big bro anyway.”
And what about her contestant? Has Christina rejected her team? No way!
“I think the real winner here tonight is Dez because he was able to now jumpstart his career, not be a cover song artist at this point, and he’s already won so many hearts in America that I have no worries at all on where he’s going to go from here,” she said.
Dez was also on the carpet last night, side-by-side with his coach, but he had a different contestant to root for than Xtina.
“I have a lot of friends on the show, but I love Trevin [Hunte] like a brother and I’m so proud of him,” Dez told us. “He started off as the shy kid on the show and he’s really come into his own, and I told him that the greatest love of all is like his life story: learning to love yourself and being comfortable in your own skin.”
