早在1998年，在外交学院就读的芮成钢，就代表中国参加了“伦敦世界英语演讲比赛”并夺得第四名。2001年，他被世界经济论坛(World Economic Forum)授予“全球明日精英”荣誉。2002年，被美国美中关系全国委员会（National Committee on US-China Relations）评选为“美中杰出青年”。2003年，在首届中国欧洲杰出青年论坛上, 他再度被评选为“中欧杰出青年”。2004年，应约旦王后Rania的邀请，芮成钢成为“世界青年领袖论坛组织” （Forum for Young Global Leaders）提名委员会的唯一中国委员。2005年，28岁的他被美国耶鲁大学校长亲自提名，被选为耶鲁大学历史上最年轻的“耶鲁世界学者”（Yale World Fellow）。

Rui Chenggang is a director and anchor of China Central Television, the national TV networks of China. Besides producing and anchoring the daily prime time business news shows on CCTV’s business and international channels, Chenggang, as CCTV’s only bilingual business anchor and talk show host, also conducts face-to-face interviews with the world's top politicians, business leaders and economists. Among his recent interviewees are Bill Clinton, former President of the United States, John Snow, US Treasury Secretary, George Soros, the Financier, the President of Georgia, Mikhael Saakashvili, President of Nigeria, Olusegan Obasanjo, IAEA Chief, Mohammed El Baradie, Jack Welch, Former Chairman & CEO of GE, Michael Dell, Chairman of Dell, Bill Ford, CEO of Ford Motors, Meg Whitman, President of Ebay, and the new CEO of Intel, Paul Otellini, etc. Since 1999, he has interviewed over 300 worldwide chairpersons and CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, and more than 30 heads of states.Chenggang was one of the founders of China's very first international TV channel, CCTV-9, a.k.a CCTV International, and remains the channel's most popular and renowned anchorperson. From 2000 to 2003, besides anchoring, Chenggang was also a columnist of Beijing Youth Daily, the most widely read newspaper in Beijing. Also in 2001, he was awarded Global Leader for Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum, at the annual meeting of the WEF in Davos, Switzerland.In 2002, he was selected as one of the 24 founding fellows of the US China Young Leaders Forum, organized by the National Committee on US-China Relations. Also in the same year, he became a founding fellow of China-Europe Young Leaders Forum, hosted by the BMW Herbert Quandt Foundation. Chenggang is also a founding member of the New Asian Leaders Forum. From 2002 to 2003, Rui Chenggang also served as the Deputy Secretary General of the Organizing Committee of the World Economic Development Declaration Initiatives of China, the first major international business summit held in China after the SARS attack.In 2004, At the invitation of Queen Rania of Jordan and Klaus Schwab, Founder of the World Economic Forum, Chenggang has become the only Chinese, and the youngest member of the Nomination Committee of the Forum for Young Global Leaders, the most prestigious young leaders community of the world. In 2005, nominated by Richard Levin, the President of Yale University, Chenggang was selected as the youngest Yale World Fellow in the history of Yale University, and is joined by 17 outstanding future leaders of the world in this very special leadership program, aiming at making the Yale the cradle of the world’s, not only America's, top politicians and leaders. Chenggang sat on the board of China National Symphony Orchestra from 2001 to 2003. He was also a director of China Philharmonic, supervising business development from 2003 to 2004. He is also a visiting professor at the the School of TV & Journalism of China Central Academy of Drama. He is also a veteran speaker and moderator of important domestic and international business summits. Chenggang is also on the advisory board of some leading multinational and local private media and communications corporations.
