Benedict Cumberbatch photo in Simon Annand Exhibit
A photo of Benedict backstage at the National preparing to go onstage for Frankenstein will be appearing in The Half - an exhibition of Simon Annand’s work at the Idea Generation Gallery in London.
Annand, a renknowned theatre photographer has taken a series of images of actors just before they go on stage. The title “The Half” refers to the half hour before curtain up when the actors are left to prepare. In 2008 Annand released a book of his images - The Half (which I’ve been meaning to buy for ages and is now pretty much half price on Amazon) which has some stunning shots in including this shot of Benedict before going on stage in Hedda Gabler. (Annand also took the photos for The Childrens Monologues)
The exhibition starts on Friday and goes on until 8 April. The gallery is open Monday to Friday 10-6 and Sunday 12 -5.Thanks to Riley for finding The Independent article which confirmed a new photo of Benedict would be in the exhibit.
