End of the LineFirst broadcast: Oct. 29, 2001 Synopsis: Despite his having recently proposed to her, Steve and Susan's relationship is drifting into a routine. Through a series of (somewhat contrived) circumstances, Susan finds out that Steve gave his phone number to a woman at the bar, and it looks as though Steve and Susan might have reached the end. Review: Ironically, just as Jeff is just starting to enjoy a relationship, Steve and Patrick are ready to shoot him down with another female-phobia diatribe. And yet Steve seems as pained at the thought of losing Susan as he is annoyed with knowing her every move. Furthermore, the business with the fake accents is right out of the I Love Lucy Sitcom Cliche Book. In a way, this is probably a necessary episode to test Steve and Susan's relationship, but after the highs of the previous episode, it can't help being a bit of a letdown. My rating: * * *
