BiographySal Da Vinci, stage name of Salvatore Michael Sorrentino, is a Neapolitan artist born in 1969 in New York during a tour of his father, Mario Da Vinci, a famous singer and actor.
Sal made his stage debut at just seven years old, performing alongside leading figures in Italian cinema and theatre. But it was Sal's immense love for music that soon took over and became his focus.
In 1994, he won the Canale 5 Italian Music Festival with the song Vera, which became a hit in Latin America under the title Vida. Subsequently, he starred in Opera Buffa del Giovedì Santo and later the leading role in the musical C'era Una Volta…Scugnizzi. In 2009, Sal Da Vinci placed third at Festival di Sanremo with his song Non Riesco A Farti Innamorare; a contest he returned to and won in 2026.
In 2024, Sal released his most successful song to date, Rossetto e Caffè. The single has achieved over 450 million plays across all digital platforms, been certified double platinum and ended up being one of the most-streamed songs of the year.
