thanks for all the kind words of encouragement! it means a lot to me to know that some of you are behind me 100%. it's difficult to make a pop record nowadays if you don't want to submit to the same producers, etc.....i'm not in it to make a record for the sake of just having something out there. thanks for understanding my need to create something special.....as for others, the act of pretending like you know-it-all is getting a bit stale. you don't know my situtation and i take great offense in you claiming that others may assume that i'm "difficult". how rude. i take great pride in being a very easy-going, considerate, and kind person. since when did someone showing notable regard for their career= being difficult?

Sunday, May 21, 2006 Good Day to You...:) Current mood: content hello all! hope this find you well..... i'm so sorry!!i know it's been forever and 2 days since i've written, so i'm aware that an update is beyond necessary at this point. since it's been a while, allow me to set the scene a bit....catch you up to speed. i'm totally digging my sunday evening. sitting with my step-doggie (he's in a very handsome sweater). listening to joni mitchell (ladies of the canyon). just watched 60 minutes (adore mike wallace) and about to have some sugar-free hot chocolate (sooo yummy). i'm super tired, as usual....but with more of an excuse this go 'round. we actually started filming "license to wed" this week. woohoo! the first week is in the can and it's been a complete blast to go to work every day. i can only hope the remainder of the shoot is able to maintain this level of fun. don't know if i've ever laughed this hard. :) beyond the prep stuff for the film, i've continued writing music for my record. last weekend, i had the honor of writing with one of my favorite bands, hem....it was amazing! i can't tell you what a charge i get out of being in the same room with such talented musicians and being allowed the opportunity to collaborate with them. i even went to their la show at the knitting factory the other evening and was blown away finally seeing them play cool and such an awesome band. :) speaking of music, i guess now is as good a time as any to let you know that i am a free agent in the music business. i've amicably parted ways with wb records and am trying to wisely/slowly choose the next step. it's unfortunate that a great album couldn't have come out of this partnership, but i believe that both parties were aiming for very different musical directions. i guess it's become too important and i'm not willing to compromise on the type of record i'm on the road to create. i promise you that i won't give up until i've constructed something that i'm truly proud of.... anyhoo..... oh good gracious---i forgot the most exciting piece of week! i got the chance to visit "american idol" rehearsal last monday and was basically in heaven!! i'm totally a taylor fan (SOUL PATROL) but adore elliot as well and was rooting for the 2 of them in finals. :( oh well. i went with some friends and was thrilled to get to meet both guys and pester them with all of my annoying fan questions. haha.....they were both very gracious and i felt cool hearing taylor practice "try a little tenderness" before anyone else. can't wait to see him win the whole thing!!! go taylor!!! and with that....it's getting late for this old lady, so i'm off to bed. i promise to write sooner next time.... xoxo,mm
