The book tells the story of the U.S. government’s effort to retrieve artwork stolen by Hitler's forces and the art experts whose skills are put to use in the campaign. The title comes from the name given to the U.S. and U.K. art historians and museum curators who helped the military track down the stolen pieces. Unlike Clooney's previous directing efforts, Good Night, and Good Luck and The Ides of March, the Monuments film will likely have a big budget and play to a larger, more commercial audience. “I’m not opposed to doing a commercial film, I’m just opposed to doing a commercial film that doesn’t feel organic to me,” Clooney told the blog The Wrap at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Saturday. “So if we’re going to do a commercial film we thought, 'Let’s do something that seems fun and actually have something to say.'” Clooney is generating strong Oscar buzz this year for acting in The Descendants and for directing Ides of March. He is nominated for Golden Globes for both films. He will next be seen in Alfonso Cuaron's space drama Gravity opposite Sandra Bullock and is a producer on Argo, being directed by Ben Affleck. The director and producer of the upcoming "Sherlock Holmes" sequel may board the project, which previously had Steven Soderbergh attached to direct. After losing one film team, Warner Bros.’ Man from U.N.C.L.E. could be gaining a new one. Guy Ritchie and Lionel Wigram, the director and a producer of the upcoming Sherlock Holmes sequel, are in talks to come aboard the project. Ritchie would direct with the duo producing via their recently formed, Warners-based shingle. Steven Soderbergh was to direct the project but dropped out in mid-November due to casting and budgetary issues. The project shouldn’t lose any steam though, since it was well-developed and was teed up to go next year. The only real question is whether or not Ritchie and Wigram keep the previous project’s 1960s setting. Soderbergh, meanwhile, is setting up a pharma-psychological thriller The Bitter Pill at Summit. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows opens December 16. Ritchie directed the movie with Wigram, who came up with the concept of the modern-style take on the famed detective, producing with Joel Silver, Susan Downey and Dan Lin.

【TNABO】朱莉和贝松合作惊悚片 Angelina Jolie To Star In Luc Besson-Directed Dramatic Thriller Film By MIKE FLEMING | Tuesday December 6, 2011 Angelina Jolie is in talks to star in an untitled big-scale movie written and directed by Luc Besson. Besson currently has The Lady in the Oscar mix, but this film sounds like a closer cousin to early Besson efforts like The Professional, La Femme Nikita and The Fifth Element. I’m told that there are serious talks going on for Jolie to star next spring in a dramatic thriller that is rooted in true scientific elements. Besson’s EuropaCorp developed it and will co-finance, and negotiations are already underway with a studio for domestic distribution. The Besson film would be Jolie’s next as an actress, and it would come before she teams with director Ridley Scott on a historical epic about Gertrude Bell that The Constant Gardener scribe Jeffrey Caine is currently rewriting. I’m told there’s a high likelihood that both films will land at the same studio. The latter film is an epic adventure about a British aristocrat who helped define the current Middle East and the borders of Iraq after the fall of the Ottoman Empire. She became a seminal figure in Middle East politics during the run-up to WWI, acting in roles that ranged from archaeologist to diplomat, photographer and spy. Jolie is also moving quickly on Maleficent, the Linda Woolverton-scripted revisionist take on the Sleeping Beauty tale for Walt Disney Pictures, and she is getting closer to playing medical examiner Kay Scarpetta in the Fox 2000 drama based on the Patricia Cornwell novel series. Kario Salem has turned in a script he wrote in close collaboration with the author, based on her bestselling novel series. Jolie is getting ready for the release In The Land Of Blood And Honey, her feature directorial and screenwriting debut, which is being released by FilmDistrict in the heat of the Oscar race. 【TNABO】狮门又有新动作~~收购英国ICON发行公司 Icon U.K. confir***ionsgate deal Sales division to focus on prod'n deals LONDON -- Icon U.K. Group confirmed on Tuesday that Lionsgate U.K. will distribute and release certain Icon film rights in Blighty through a multi-year partnership following the closure of its U.K. distribution arm. Sources close to the company could not reveal the specifics of the partnership, as terms still remain unclear as to what portion of the library Lionsgate will be buying. On Monday, Variety revealed that Icon was shuttering its distribution biz to focus more on production and financing pics, and that Lionsgate was believed to be buying the U.K. library. Sources said that increased industry speculation had forced the company to make a formal announcement about the future direction of the company. Following a strategic review, a statement revealed that Icon U.K.'s international sales division "will sharpen its focus on acquiring new projects by seeking out production deals to source original content, while retaining its core business of selling production to international distributors." It is still unclear how long the sales division will remain at the company, but for now it appears to be intact. It is also still unclear which jobs will be axed at the London-based operation but, as reported by Variety on Monday, sources indicate that roughly 20 positions will be chopped. Last week, Icon tapped Aviv Giladi as CEO of the company. He is chairman of Israeli media company R.G.E. Group and non-exec director on the board of Ealing Studios. "I am hugely excited about the prospect of engaging with directors and producers to source and create the most compelling independent movies possible," said Giladi in a statement. "Content creation is central to my career and I invite the world's film talent to come and talk to us at Icon about projects we can partner with."

Universal has optioned the movie rights to Erik Larson’s nonfiction best-seller In the Garden of Beasts for Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman to produce via the duo’s Playtone banner. Hanks is eyeing the project as a potential starring vehicle. The book tells the true tale of William Dodd, the United States' reluctant and mild-mannered ambassador to Berlin in 1933, and his daughter Martha, a vivacious socialite who had romantic affairs with a Gestapo official and a Soviet spy. Dodd and his family at first naively navigated life in Nazi Germany (Dodd’s daughter was excited when Hitler kissed her hand) but they slowly gained awareness of the mounting brutality around them. The book, whose full title is In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror and an American Family in Hitler’s Berlin, was published in May. This isn’t Larson’s first brush with Hollywood; the author is known for writing The Devil and the White City, another nonfiction tome in development by Leonardo DiCaprio and his Appian Way shingle. Larson is repped by Paradigm and Black Inc. Beasts continues Hanks’ fascination with World War II-themed projects, and history in general. His Playtone was behind the Emmy-winning miniseries Band of Brothers, The Pacific and John Adams. The CAA-repped actor next stars in Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. Production co-president Peter Cramer will oversee for Universal.

【TNABO】众神观影简评五棵松耀莱早场10号厅国配版~~~上座20人左右~~ 算是纯粹的荷尔蒙片，最出彩的是打斗的力量感和音效~~~新超人很帅差不多100分钟~~床戏被剪的几乎没了~~ 血腥程度经过导演OR广电的模糊化剪辑处理~完全是少儿适宜的水平~我看的这场前排还坐了两个10岁以下的小朋友整片色调都是怀旧的古铜色~~类似斯巴达300的色彩处理~~不如诸神的明快~~不如特洛伊的华丽悬崖海岸的CG景色很漂亮~~全片有视觉冲击的特效不是很多~~数量要少于诸神 3D效果不理想~~最明显的是结尾满天战神那一幕~~建议看2D足矣演员里洛克和新超人表现都很不错~~新超人身材很棒~~洛克有点发福~~印度美女平托也有发挥~频繁当大片配角~处于上升期国配减分~~忒休斯战前动员演讲那段~~不够激情和煽动力总体打72分~~比预期的有所失望

【TNABO】没忍住等周末~~~刚去看了非IMAX的铁拳 11:05的国配场次~~~上座率不足10%~~118的厅也就坐了10人左右机械暴力+热血+温情小演员太可爱了~~典型金发碧眼的小正太稍遗憾的是机器人打的场次有点少用金刚狼在电影里的话说就是观众已不满足人类的肉搏~~机器人擂台能带来更大的暴力刺激国语配音也相当不错~~ 剧情温馨感人~~尤其是父子分别那段`~发现坐在旁边的两位老年观众在擦眼泪打85分~~~比猩猩还要再好一点应该会有下集吧~~宙斯还没完败~期待.....

【TNABO】3D版《末代皇帝》将于明年底重映该片制片人杰瑞米·托马斯（Jeremy Thomas）透露的，目前影片转制3D的工作已经展开，负责该片摄影的奥斯卡得主Vittorio Storaro以及该片导演贝纳尔多·贝托鲁奇（Bernardo Bertolucci）将全程指导和监督。《末代皇帝》由中国、意大利、英国、法国合拍，1987年上映。影片根据中国封建王朝的最后一个皇帝溥仪的自传《我的前半生》改编，讲述了他“从人变成神、又从神变回到人”的跌宕起伏的传奇一生。该片在1988年获得第60届奥斯卡最佳影片、最佳导演、最佳改编剧本、最佳剪辑、最佳摄影、最佳艺术指导、最佳服装、最佳音响、最佳配乐共九项大奖。算上这部《末代皇帝》，明年（2012年）将有四部经典电影以3D形式回归电影院了，这四部影片分别是卢卡斯的《星球大战I：幽灵的威胁》、卡梅隆的《泰坦尼克号》（Titanic）、汤姆·克鲁斯的《壮志凌云》（Top Gun）。除《末代皇帝》外，另外三部都计划在年初上映。

【TNABO】中美合作染指《封神天下》~~已签Tom DeSanto监制 Transformers, X-Men'a Tom DeSanto joins Chinese Gods project 3 November, 2011 Tom DeSanto, whose credits include X-Men and Transformers, has signed on to join the production team of US-China co-produced fantasy trilogy Gods. DeSanto will join Taipei and LA-based producer Steve Chicorel and Beijing-based Chen Baiyi as producer. He will lead produce and have approvals over all creative aspects of the trilogy. The deal was signed between Chen’s Beijing-based Yi Shang Media and DeSanto. The Gods trilogy novel was based on the Chinese classic “The Creation of the Gods”, a fantastical interpretation of the demise of the Shang Dynasty (1700-1100 BC) and the rise of the Zhou Dynasty (1066-25 6BC). One of the main features of Gods is the 108 demi gods in the story each with unique powers. DeSanto, who describes the story as “Lord of the Rings meets X-Men”, will adapt the story into screenplays. Yi Shang Media, whose credits include animated film Little Big Panda (2011), has submitted the project to China’s State Administration of Radio Film and Television (SARFT) and it is now approved for shooting. According to Chicorel, who was responsible for closing the deal with DeSanto and Yi Shang Media, the production team is in talks with US-based companies to join the project. DeSanto is one of the panelists at the second annual US-China Summit in Los Angeles this month, sponsored in part by Orb Media Group, which is in talks with Chen, Chicorel and DeSanto to expand the Gods franchise worldwide in various entertainment platforms and merchandising.
