【诺丁汉晚邮报】森林告诉莱斯特城必须报价100万才考虑出售摩根 NOTTINGHAM Forest have rejected an improved £650k bid for Wes Morgan – and told Leicester City they must cough up £1m for the defender. The Foxes tabled a second offer for the Reds' longest-serving player yesterday. Forest are conscious that the 27-year-old is out of contract in the summer, but are determined not to let him depart on a cut-price deal. The club is aware of the risk that the player could walk away for nothing in a few months – just as Kelvin Wilson did last season. But manager Steve Cotterill also needs every available penny towards landing the two or three loan players he believes are required to help keep Forest in the Championship. Cotterill is also keen to secure the club's other out-of-contract players – who include Joel Lynch, Luke Chambers, Paul Anderson and Garath McCleary – to new deals. Forest, who face West Ham today, will not consider doing business until the Foxes offer something closer to their valuation – and Cotterill is willing to hang on to Morgan, as he believes he could still play a key role in the relegation fight. In the meantime, Guy Moussi has admitted his return to Forest has not turned out as he hoped. Cotterill's side find themselves languishing in the bottom three in the Championship – following two consecutive promotion challenges. Although Moussi remains convinced that Forest do have the quality required to climb the Championship table, even in the face of a tough challenge at Upton Park. "I knew it was going to be harder, because other teams would have been watching us; they would have seen what we were about – and there was more pressure too," he said. "I knew it was not going to be easy – but I did not expect it was going to be like this. But we have to turn things around, we have to believe. We do feel we have the squad to get us out of this. "It is important we keep working hard and thinking positively. We have to keep doing our best and believing we can be better, because we know we can. It will be tough, but we have to be focused."
【翻译砖家进】Stats Analysis: Premier League's Top Stoppers When it comes to statistical analysis there are often a number of players who are overlooked - possibly to their relief - but WhoScored has taken the time to look into the efficiency of the rare breed that is goalkeepers! Studying the stoppers to have made more than 5 starts in the Premier League, we look at those who have the best save conversion rate, as well as those who could do much better. There are certainly a few standout individuals who either rank highly in a number of areas or, in the case of Blackburn's Paul Robinson, right at the bottom of the pile in every category that we have looked into. However, we start with those who deserve credit for their shifts in goal, beginning with save conversion rate, calculating the percentage of saves each Premier League keeper has produced in relation to the number of shots on target that they have faced. Save Conversion A look at the keepers with the best percentages when it comes to saves made sees United's two stoppers both make the top 6 as they vie for Alex Ferguson's approval. It is, however, Anders Lindegaard who comes out atop the pile, keeping out 84% (16 / 19) of the shots he has had to deal with in his 7 appearances thus far. City and England's Joe Hart ranks second with 79% (59 / 75), while Fulham's reserve choice David Stockdale, who has impressed in his stint in goal due to Mark Schwarzer's injury, pips Vorm to third. Conceding Headed Goals As we looked further into the strengths and weaknesses of certain No. 1s we investigated those who have conceded the fewest headers in relation to those faced that have hit the target. One should note that Lindegaard would again lead the way having not conceded a headed goal thus far, though he has only faced 4 attempts and therefore was overlooked. It is in fact the aforementioned Mark Schwarzer who comes up trumps here in a bid to prove that he is worthy of retaining his place once recovered from injury. The veteran Aussie has conceded headed goals just twice having faced 11 on target (18%). Swansea's Michel Vorm is again amongst the leaders having conceded just 20% of the headers on target he has been tested by, along with Tim Howard, with Friedel and Reina also among the most successful. Conceding Long Shot Goals When it comes to conceding the fewest goals from long shots, Villa's sub stopper Brad Guzan is the only man to have played more than 5 times and not concede, but having only faced 7 shots from range he was not analysed. The American has dropped straight back out of the side following Shay Given's return from a groin injury, and conceding a goal from range all season now seems unlikely.
【天空体育】Forest face Morgan wait(等翻译,摩根要走了?) Forest face Morgan wait Reds defender looking to shake off knock as Cotterill talks transfers Nottingham Forest are hoping Wes Morgan is edging closer to a welcome first team return, but face an anxious wait before he is given the green light. The talismanic centre-half, who has made over 400 appearances for the Reds, is currently nursing an ankle injury. He has been given an injection to aid his recovery, but he faces a race against time to make Forest's FA Cup third round replay with East Midlands rivals Leicester on 17th January. It is touch and go whether Morgan will make the trip to the King Power Stadium, with a more realistic return date pencilled in for an away date at West Ham the following Saturday. Reds boss Steve Cotterill says the club will wait and see how the defender, who has been sidelined since mid-December, responds to treatment before thrusting him back into the fold. Injection He told the Nottingham Evening Post: "He has had an injection to try to calm things down. We need to see how that reacts over the next few days. "We will know at the end of the week where we stand. The next few days are important. "With all of our injuries, including Wes, Ishmael Miller and Brendan Moloney, the next seven to ten days will be big for us. "We might, maybe, be able to look at a few players coming back for the cup game." Forest snubbed two bids for Wales international Chris Gunter at the start of the winter window, but Cotterill insists there has been no movement on the transfer front since then. Window He said: "There has been no fresh interest in players, no. For us to be able to trade during the window, some players will have to go out. "We will need players to take a fresh direction in their career and move on somewhere else. "We just have to make sure we have enough to get us over the line. "We do not want to find we have another crisis, in February, in the manner of the one we had in December. "We won't do something we do not want to do. We will try to keep our best young players at the club."
