斯诺克界仅次于世锦赛的排名赛事英国锦标赛将于今天开打。前世锦赛冠军、苏格兰人格雷姆-多特从上赛季状态开始复苏。他希望本周在泰尔福德能够有出色的发挥，改写以前在英锦赛上的糟糕战绩，成为夺得世锦赛和英锦赛两个重要排名赛冠军的球员。
在斯诺克历史上，只有10位运动员实现了这两项最重要比赛的双冠王。2006年世锦赛冠军多特相信在今年12月4日至12日的比赛中，他会争取成为第11人。
现世界排名第10的多特在英锦赛上的最好成绩是2006年。当时他进入了半决赛，输给了斯蒂芬-亨德利。
“除了那一次进入半决赛之外，我在英锦赛没有什么好的成绩。真的是很糟糕。”33岁的多特说道，“我当然希望这一次做的更好。我在世锦赛上就有好的表现，这也暗示长局制的比赛会很适合我。所以我希望在英锦赛上能够有个好的成绩。”
本赛季，多特的开局非常稳定，在上海大师赛中打进八强。在接下来三项排名赛中他的目标是确保自己保持在世界前16，获得克鲁斯堡的种子资格。
“我现在还不知道自己是否喜欢新赛季采用的这个新的排名系统。尽管它对我比较有利。”多特继续说道，“接下来的几项赛事都非常重要。因为在2月的威尔士公开赛之后，排名还将发生变化。世界前16的球员将去参加世锦赛。上赛季我是通过资格赛获得谢菲尔德正赛的参赛机会的。这个赛季我不希望还是这样。”

Dott Aims To Improve Poor UK Record
Graeme Dott hopes to join the elite group of players to have won both the World and 12BET.com UK Championship titles.
Only ten players in the history of snooker have won the two biggest ranking titles, and 2006 World Champion Dott will try to become the 11th at the event which runs from December 4 to 12 in Telford.
The World No 10 from Larkhall in Scotland enjoyed his best run at the UK in 2006 when he got to the semi-finals before losing to Stephen Hendry.
“Other than that one semi-final I’ve done nothing in the UK, which is a pretty poor return, “ said 33-year-old Dott, who was runner-up to Neil Robertson at the Crucible last season. “I definitely want to do better this time. I’ve done well at the World Championship which suggests that the longer tournaments suit me, so I should have a better record at the UK.”
Dott has had a solid start to the season, reaching the quarter-finals of the Roewe Shanghai Masters. Among his goals over the next three ranking events is to ensure that he stays in the top 16 and guarantees his place at the Crucible.
“I still haven’t made up my mind about whether I like the new ranking system, the way it changes during the season, although it has definitely benefitted me,” added Dott. “The next few events are massive because the list is updated after the Welsh Open in February and the top 16 then will be at the World Championship. I had to qualify for Sheffield last season and I don’t want to go through that again.”
