there are only 86,000 individuals in Irish-speaking community, among which largely composed by the most remote regions of the island.English came to Ireland with the Normans in the 12th Century. ever since it has become the primary language spoken in Ireland, the Irish have molded the language to make it their own by adding Irish accent. Some of them can be very hard to understand, as what I experienced with my flatmate from Belfast. and I found quite a few English peole love the accent in Dublin, ie the accent wl crews speak with. they do sound clearer, posh and a sing-song style.

guess plenty of youth from Ireland nowadays can't speak, ot only be able to speak a bit of their own langiage. Among the 4 Irish friends of mine, 3 of them can hardly speak Irish. Irish citizens are required to take Irish class throughout their education.
