Darin has written trailer song for Idol 2010
Sweden's biggest music competition, Idol, is now in its seventh season and the format is bigger and better than ever. The specially produced song trailer Microphone is written by Darin, who finished second in Idol 2004th
- It was fun to write about what started my career, "says Darin.
Then Darin Zanyar Idol runner up in 2004 has his career gone straight up. He has released several CDs, has been in Melodifestivalen, met with great success abroad, and most recently been commissioned to write music for the trailer Idol, Sweden's biggest music competition.
- It was great to get this one task, to write about what started my career, "says Darin.
- Last year I did of course a cover of Coldplay's Viva La Vida, but this year I wanted to create a song from scratch. So now I've done it all - text and music written and produced.
The song Microphone is exclusively produced in cooperation with TV4 and will receive its world premiere when it performed live by Darin in Sommarkrysset on Saturday. After Sommarkrysset will also Idols new trailer that premiered on television.
What was the inspiration for the song?
- I wanted to convey the feeling of getting up on stage for the first time. Now it is up to the evidence as well! The heart that pounds, the nervousness you feel before the first chorus, it feels like a life and death. I still feel so before a performance, but it was even worse during Idol time when everything was new and it was so keen to do well.
What idol has meant to you?
- A lot. It was my way into the music business. However, I had no idea it would be so big when I was with, it was the first year it was sent.
It is not all that has managed to manage the fame Idol gives and create your own career after the program, but you have succeeded. What do you think is the key?
- Music is the heart, I love music so much. I think it helped that I am really passionate about, fighting and working hard. In addition, I think that songwriting has helped. I began to write their own material at an early stage, even before I was on the Idol.
Do you have any good advice to this year's Idol aspirants?
- People are so different so it is difficult to give a general council. But it is important to choose a song that fits and one that manages to reach out to people. After Idol, it might be good to have control and be involved, it helps a lot and it shows if you work hard and not just float by.
You've come a long way from Idol. Do you have any musical dreams to fulfill?
- I have started writing songs for others and it would be fun to make it even more. The dream would be to Leona Lewis and Beyonce sang a song I wrote - it would be ultimate.
On Saturday you appear in Sommarkrysset. What is the real summer for you?
- I love to sail and travel, like car trips. And swimming and sunbathing.
And did you do it in summer?
- No, not so much. I have toured some and finish writing the disc which comes out August 18. And tomorrow, Friday, I'll talk in the summer P1!
