In Lene's current absence from the music scene, we have tallied her true live performances.
Many of Lene's appearances in the press and public since 1998 have been performances by playback. The first real live performance that is registered is the famous Sound Republic live set in London on September 23, 1999 (picture right). And in the almost 11 years since then, her live performances are few and far between. They are like rare gems - diamonds that are very hard to find.
A live performance by Lene Marlin must be counted as a rarity, seeing we have only found 28 registered true live appearances in all of her career. At current time we don't know when the next opportunity of seeing her live in concert will be - or even if there ever will be another opportunity at all. The lesson to be learned from this walkthrough is that if you ever get a chance to see and listen to Lene Marlin live in concert, please do yourself the favour and be there when it happens.
Below is an attempt of a pictorial journey through the registered 28 live performances we have on record in chronological order, as have been documented by public photographic evidence, either for TV or for a general paying- or non-paying audience. Live performances for radio only is much harder to register fully, but at least in Norway they are not many in any case (mostly for NRK P3).
