始祖山风景区位于洛阳市新安县北西沃乡境内，是黄河小浪底水库新安万山湖景区的最佳旅游胜地。集名山、秀水、古迹、溶洞、峡谷为一体的始祖山犹如镶嵌在万山湖上的一颗璀璨明珠，她一面连山，三面环水，是小浪底库区最大的半岛，周围水域面积达168平方公里。山上不但有许多关于中华民族的祖先黄帝的动人传说，而且有轩辕黄帝宫、神农炎帝宫、人祖奶奶宫等七十多处先人居住过的古溶洞。据《山海经》记载，“青要之山（即今始祖山），实惟帝之密都。”洞套洞、洞连洞、洞叠洞、洞中有洞、会把您的思古幽情推向极至。 登临山颠，极目远眺，群山叠翠，烟云缥缈。闻名遐尔、气势磅礴的小浪底水库截流后，在此形成最大的北国水乡画卷尽收眼底。由此乘船东行15公里即到巍峨雄伟的小浪底大坝，西行5公里即为超越长江三峡的黄河三峡，峡谷内两岸陡壁如削，重峦叠嶂，峡谷水平如镜，青山倒影，形成鱼在山边游，鸟在水中飞，舟行碧波上，人在画中行的秀美景观，使人心旷神怡，流连忘返。风光秀丽的祖庭胜地始祖山诚挚欢迎各方社会贤达、仁人志士在这里寻根问祖、旅游观光、投资开发。
