亚洲蝮属Gloydius是分布在亚洲的一类小型毒蛇。目前为止，该属至少确认23种，分别属于3个类群(G. blomhoffii组、G. halys-intermedius组和G. strauchi组)。2017至今，根据形态学和遗传学描述，最初被认为是G.strauchi（Bedriaga，1912）的六个种群已被证明是新种:红斑高山蝮G.rubromaculatus (Shi et al. 2017)、若尔盖蝮G. angusticeps (Shi et al. 2018)、澜沧蝮G. huangi (Wang et al. 2019)、怒江蝮G. lipipengi (Shi et al. 2021)、冰川蝮G. swild (Shi et al. 2021)、九寨蝮Gloydius lateralis sp. nov.。以往的研究表明，鉴于G.strauchi复合种在中国西部广泛分布，G.strauchi复合种内可能仍存在隐藏物种(Zhao et al. 1998; Zhao 2006; Shi et al. 2021)。有必要进一步探究中国西南地区的蝮蛇多样性。
