Senna’s Hispania seat at risk?
June 2,2010
Italian media reports suggest that Sakon Yamamoto could be in line to replace Bruno Senna in the Hispania Racing line-up
Bruno Senna could be at risk of losing his drive with the Hispania Racing team according to reports in the Italian press.
The speculation comes despite Senna enjoying one of his strongest weekends to date in Turkey, with the Brazilian out-qualifying Lucas di Grassi – the first time Hispania had gone quicker than one of its rivals in a dry qualifying session this season.
Although eventually forced to retire, Senna also enjoyed a strong run in the race and was able to fight for position with both di Grassi and Timo Glock.
“I had a pretty good race today,” he said afterwards. “The start was good and I could win some positions. Also the first laps were quite good. At the end I had a problem with the fuel system and that's why I had to retire.
“During the race, we were a bit unlucky with traffic as we were ahead of both Virgins. It is sad that we had a fuel pressure problem that caused us to end our race prematurely. But we are on top of it and hopefully we can get it sorted. I had a fair battle with Lucas Di Grassi as we had a faster car than Virgin and hopefully we can have another fight for positions soon.”
Despite his performance, Italian publication Autosprint has suggested that the team could be looking to promote test driver Sakon Yamamoto into a race seat.
The Japanese racer, who previously competed in F1 with Super Aguri and Spyker, made his first appearance for the team in free practice in Istanbul but was slowest of the 25 drivers to venture onto the circuit, lapping nearly three seconds slower than Senna.
Speculation is likely to suggest that any move to promote Yamamoto into a race seat would be for financial reasons to aid the team in making it through its debut campaign.

既然有Autosprint的造谣就要有Autosport的辟谣:)

Q. What can you say about HRT F1 team drivers, Karun Chandhok and Bruno Senna? Are you happy with the driver development?
CK: Karun and Bruno are very talented young drivers who developed well in the first races. Bruno had quite a good qualifying and race in Istanbul, Karun a good race in Monaco. Unfortunately Bruno has been stopped by a fuel pick-up problem and Karun by a race incident. I am confident and looking forward to Bruno and Karun doing a good job in the coming races which will improve the overall performance of the team.
