5月29日：Teen singer Cody Simpson hits US big time
   teenage singing sensation Cody Simpson has hit the big time after signing with Atlantic Records in the US. The 13-year-old from the Gold Coast, dubbed "Australia's answer to Justin Bieber", will team up with US rap star Flo Rida in his first single, to be released June 1.
A copy of the song is already doing the rounds on U TU BE and Flo Rida and Simpson have confirmed the signing via Twitter.
One of the biggest names in rap, Flo Rida's previous collaborations Low and Right Round went to No. 1 and had triple platinum sales in the US and Australia.
Simpson's contract will see him rub shoulders with music's elite. Other Atlantic stars include RnB matriarch Missy Elliott, US rockers Matchbox Twenty, rapper Lupe Fiasco and indie stars Death Cab for Cutie.

iYiYi will be released on iTunes in the US on June 1 with hardcopy sales and Australian releases yet to be finalised.
Grammy-nominated producer Shawn Campbell first discovered Cody after he posted video clips of himself singing on U TU BE.
The former Merrimac All Saints Anglican student is in Los Angeles and it is believed the Simpson family is planning to permanently relocate to help him follow his dream.
Cody's parents could not be contacted yesterday and a source close to the family said there was a complete media blackout as "everything has to be okayed by (the label)".

Simpson's family, who will relocate from the Gold Coast to California to follow Cody's dream, could not be contacted this week but sources close to the star said a contract was "all but in the bag".
The pint-sized former Merrimac All Saints Anglican student has more than 40,000 followers on Twitter and is also collaborating with singer and producer Colby O'Donnis who has worked with US R&B star Akon and pop icon Lady GaGa.
A preview of his song Summertime is becoming a hit online and a single is expected later this month.

Internet buzz has also surrounded Simpson's school friend McKenzie Comer whose farewell tune to Cody is making waves on U TU BE.
Comer's self-penned piano ballad The Last Goodbye shot her U TU BE channel to No.1 in Australia this week.
"It took me one night to write the song . . . about Cody moving to the States to pursue his career. It just came to me," Mckenzie said.
"He was in the same class as me and the song is about the memories we've had together. He was always singing in class and at the time it was annoying but now I really miss it.
"Cody is an amazing friend and I was so lucky to be able to spend time with him before he left. I would do anything to be in his position."
