DANNA GARCÍA: "I JUST BROKE UP WITH MY BOYFRIEND" The fiesty Norma Elizondo, who has visted Spain, confesses: "I dream of finding true love and having children." Danna admits she she broke up with her boufriend because "it was hard to build something together." Friendly, easy-going, and responsible. Thus is Danna Garc�a, the heroine of Pasi�n de Gavilanes. The Colombian actress, who has visited Spain to promote her novela, made a space in her crowded schedule to grant us an interview and she commented to us feeling surprised with her reception: "It's been truly crazy." -Danna, tell us about your time in Spain. I will never forget the people's kindness, because I didn't expect to be so well-known here. It has been a marvellous surprise, crazy, and I feel happy about everything that life is offering me. -What do you have in common with your character, Norma? We both are fighters and very family-oriented. We believe in love and are women of our word. -And have you found true love as Norma has? I still haven't met that man who makes me quiver. I'd like to find true love, start a family, have children... That will be in the future. "I will not forget the receiption from my Spanish fans." -But up until a few months ago you had a boyfriend, right? Yes, I just broke up with him. -What happened? He's a Colombian businessman and given the rythm of my job, so many trips, we found it hard to build something together... It's complicated to find time for your significant other. But it's ok because we are still friends. I have the good fortune to continue to be friends with my exes. -Is it true that you like older men? Yes, my ex-boyfriend is 15 years older than I. Mature men are more responsible, they know what they want, and they understand my work rythm. "David Bisbal and I are friends. I admire him as an artist." "It's not true that I endangered Mario's marriage." -It's also been said that there was more than just friendship between you and Mario Cimarro (Juan Reyes). People always make up rumors about [me and] my castmates. In Mario's case they even went so far as to say we were going away on a trip together! It's not true that I endangered his marriage, we're very good friends, I care for and admire him a lot, but nothing more than that. He is married to Natalia Streignard, a very beautiful woman, and is mature enough to know that we're only friends. I like mature men, with a good sense of humor, [who are] fun, respectful, and who care for me, of course. -Would you forgive an infidelity? I don't know, because I am the jealous type. It's never happened to me and I hope it never does. What I [definitely] would not forgive would be disloyalty. -Few people know you're friends with David Bisbal. My sister is in the music business, as a producer. I went to some meetings where David was also present and that's how we met. He's very talented and a good friend. I admire him as an artist. They also said there was something [more] between us but it's not true. "On set I got along better with the guys than with the girls." "There is always someone who envies you" -It's been said that on the set of 'Pasi�n..,' Paola Rey (Jimena), Natasha Klauss (Sara), and you totally didn't get along. The press wanted to make trouble between us [girls], but the truth is that we made a really good working team. Yes I have to admit that I got along better with the guys than with the girls, with [the guys] it was a lot easier to forge a friendship. Maybe because we had already worked together and we knew each other better. -Danna, do you think it's easier to be friends with a man than with a woman? It's totally different -- we women are much more jealous. We are also more gossipy. -Do you consider yourself a woman who is envied? There is always someone who envies you, but this happens to all of us. From when we're little, in school, there's sure to be some kid who envies you your pencil. I try to give my best and that's it. -What do you want from life? It's already given me a lot. I can't ask for more from life, it wouldn't be fair: I have a good job --right now I'm going to Mexico for a while to star in another novela, called Encrucijada-- I adore my family and I'm healthy. That said, I'd love to do movies. Despite the fact some have described the relationship between Danna and her female co-stars as "bad," she says: "We made a good team."
