Blockbuster producer Peter Chan launched US$7.5 million Chinese superhero comedy “Mr. and Mrs. Incredible," directed by “CJ7” helmer Vincent Kok, starring Louis Koo (“Overheard”, “Connected”) and Chan’s offscreen partner Sandra Ng (“Echoes of the Rainbow”), produced and distributed by Chan’s We Productions, he said Tuesday.  
The film marks the follow up to producer Chan’s US$50 million grossing hit “Bodyguards and Assassins”, which took home two acting awards at the Asian Film Awards on Monday and received a record-setting 19 nominations at the upcoming Hong Kong Film Awards.
It also marks the first time the frequent onscreen collaborators play husband and wife, as a retired martial arts superheroes couple going through a midlife crisis.    The story takes place in ancient China, with the couple dealing with contemporary issues including property prices, infertility and the seven year itch in a period setting.
“Mr. and Mrs. Incredible” is scheduled for a 2011 Chinese New Year release.
