1) What were your first influences in music ? And why you choosed become a drummer ?
My first influences were Deep Purple, Cheap Trick,Rolling Stones,Led Zepplin,Jeff Beck [Blow by Blow,Wired],ZZ Top,Chicago,Santana,Bob Marley,Kiss,Frank Zappa, and Pink Floyd[when I was stoned] hahahaha,Tower of power, and many more.
I choosed to play drums because it exited me the first time I saw a live drummer. It sparked something inside me that has never left. I thought it looked really cool and I could not take my eyes of the drummer. It was loud and explosive. When you see them go from quiet to REALLY LOUD you have to be dead for it not to move you.
2) How did Izzy contact you to be in the Ju Ju Hounds ? Did both of you know each other before to play toghether ?
Izzy did not contact me. My old friend, Jimmy"two fingers" Ashurst called me to audition,we had played together at the tail end of Broken Homes and we made a good rhythm section and I will always be grateful to him for doing so. It just clicked.I did not know Izzy before, but of course, I knew who he was.
3) How was the songwriting process in the Ju Ju Hounds ? Did Izzy bring the songs already completed or he wrote them with you guys on the spot ?
As far as the song process, there was already alot of material there when I joined. Izzy was always up for input from us. If it worked,he would use it, we all knew when It sounded right,it was pretty organic. Some songs came to us at rehersals, and Izzy just let us be us.The more we played together, the more it started to sound like a band.

4) Were you the type of band that would jam a lot on the studio and record those jams ? Did you do some cover songs, not the ones that we know ?
Yes, we jammed alot because we were all inspired. We never sat around staring at each other, we played, same thing in the studio, and yes we recorded some of it.
We were always throwing songs at each other, stones, marley, whatever someone started, the rest would jump in. It was alot of fun because we were all on the same page musically. There was alot of talent in the band. Oh La La was one of my favorites.
5) Can you tell us how far along the Ju Ju Hounds were with recording the 2nd. Album in 1993 ?
We recorded in London, Trinidad and I think Copenhagen. I think we probably had enough for a record. I believe there was stuff left from the first album that did not get used as well. After the drums were done, I would go home because I had a baby waiting for me so I don't know for sure what was finished.
6) What`s one of your best memories of your Ju Ju Hounds time ?
I have nothing BUT good memories with the Ju Ju hounds. I guess if I had to pick one, It would be Japan. They LOVED Izzy and we were treated extremely well. No, it was crazy!
7) What`s your view on the breakup of the band ? Are you still in touch with the other guys ?
I really don't have a definitive view on the breakup of the band to be honest, because it happened so sudden one day in the middle of a tour and I never got a chance to speak to Izzy that day and I haven't seen nor heard from him ever since. We worked hard and traveled alot. I'm speculating, but I think Izzy was tired. He was singing lead and that's not an easy thing. It was a great ride and I'm happy to have been part of the whole thing.

To this day, I still keep in touch with Jimmy and Rick, there's just too many memories and we shared alot of good times that are impossible to forget. We talk and laugh and laugh about silly shit that went down, good times. There's always something else that we forgot and then remember. We all have a wicked sense of humor. We bonded.
Did you think there is any possibility to play toghether again ? Or you think that the time of the Ju Ju Hounds is over ?
As far as getting back together, I would in a heartbeat, it's up to Izzy of course, but I doubt it will happen. I don't know if you knew, but after the break-up, Rick, Jimmy and I went on the road as a three piece for a couple of months with The Black Crowes, but that's a whole other story. oooohhh boy.
I just gotta say, Izzy was great to work with, he had a lust for life and adventure and was level-headed person, a gentleman. Thanks Izzy, for taking me for the ride.
9) We know that you played with Bob Dylan, how was to play or work with him ?
You never knew what he was going to do next, and that made it fun. He likes to keep it fresh and I don't think the songs were ever the same twice. Keeps you on your toes.I had the honor of going out a few times for drinks with him and I had a blast. I have some good storys, but I think I'll keep those to myself.
10) Can you make us a comment about your departure from Social Distortion ?
Mike Ness, as everybody knows, is an icon. Few people have the drive and vision that he has. His quality standards are very high and he gives it all he's got every night and expects the same from everybody else. The fans are always first with him. I have nothing to add about my departure, It's all on the website.
11) You told us that played with the Ju Ju Hounds were on your top 3, wich are the others bands ?
I don't want to answer this after all. Let's just say I've played with some incredible musicians and I regret none of them. Each are the best of their kind. There are lots of shitty bands, but I've never played with any of them........

刚才匆匆看了一遍,至于翻译……本人条件有限,就交给其他好心的朋友们吧。不过感觉信息量不是很大。
……
whatever someone started, the rest would jump in.我对这句印象很深刻,在乐队这样里肯定很有意思!
还有,怪不得Izzy那么喜欢日本,那儿有很多他的迷呢……

看起来Charlie还是很崇拜Izzy的,呵呵。
这句看起来很有意思:“because it happened so sudden one day in the middle of a tour and I never got a chance to speak to Izzy that day and I haven't seen nor heard from him ever since.”。。。。很典型的Izzy作风。。。。
我记得在哪个采访上看Izzy提过解散JJH的原因,好象是觉得其他人不想认真作音乐,只是借着他的名声玩玩。似乎Slash的蛇穴乐队解散也是类似的原因
