1. manage to do指的是“设法成功做某事”。如柯林斯词典上有这么一句话：
How do you manage to keep the place so tidy?
你是怎样把这里保持得如此整洁的？
2. clod [klɑːd] n. 泥块；土块；笨蛋；蠢人；傻瓜。如牛津词典上有这么一句话：
Their hoofs threw up clods of earth as they galloped across the field.
马匹飞奔穿过田野时，马蹄溅起一块块泥巴。
