level 9
I remember one time in my life when I was having afternoon dimsum with my dad's friend Diddy back in 1997. He asked me what I thought about his brother Leslie Cheung. I simply said that he was "okay" with a big smile on my face. I don't know why but he seemed to have an unimpressed or embarrassed look on his face. I can't quite describe it exactly and I didn't want to appear obsessively fanatical either. Maybe he was expecting me to say something more than just "okay" (which is actually what I think of him). But on the same evening, it turns out my dad had told me that Uncle Diddy wanted to offer me free passes to Leslie Cheung's concert. And this was where I realized I screwed up.
Since when did the word "okay" mean "it sucks" or "not too impressive" anyway? But in any case, that is by far the biggest regrets I've ever had in my life.
