“The Beautiful Life,” the new CW drama created by Ashton Kutcher about young fashion models trying to make it in New York, has become the first new series of the fall television season to be canceled.
The CW network announced late Friday that it would replace the series, which had broadcast only two episodes so far, with repeats of “Melrose Place” on its Wednesday night schedule.
The most recent episode of “The Beautiful Life” drew only 1 million viewers, down from about 1.5 million in its first week. The series, which starred Mischa Barton, Corbin Bleu and Sara Paxton, was shooting its seventh episode on Friday when the network announced it was canceling the show.
