What I have learned from running a new player corp
我在运营新手团的时候学到了什么

I run a new player corp and so we get lots of new people. Some are Alts, some are Spies but we definitely get a lot ofbrand new players to the wonderful salt-filled game of eve.
我最近搞了个新手团，自然也招了一堆新人。有些是小号有些是马甲，不过绝大多数还是愿意玩这个硬核游戏的真萌新
There is something I wanted to raise with you that we as older players do very naturally that is actually harming the newplayers experience and can be causing retention leaks without us knowing about it.
我有一点想说的是，我们这些老鸟不经意间做的事情会伤害新人的游戏体验甚至会导致他们退坑，而我们对此一无所知
Giving Isk to new players
给新人塞钱
I know it is something that we as vets like to do. See a new pilot and they are struggling in the game... give him 10 or 20million and he should be fine. We do this when we meet new players in PVP doing solo stuff or we do it when mining andof course, missioning. Someone joins the corp and is very new. Some people will give them some Isk to help them.
我知道我们带新人的都喜欢给新人塞钱。看着萌新熬新手期的时候总觉得塞个一两千万他就能在这个游戏里活下来。
Now the giving of Isk is not the issue here. It is an issue if you give it to them too early in their eve life.比如萌新pvp,
挖矿，做任务，刚刚进军团的时候，我们往往会塞点钱帮帮他们。但是给他们钱不是问题，问题是给他们钱太早了。
Let me give you an example of 2 pilots where one is given isk early and 1 is given isk in a different way.
让我给你们举两个萌新的例子， 一 个是很早给他塞钱，另一个是用不同的方式给他塞钱。
Pilot a萌新甲
Brand new to the game and does the new player tutorials and happens to meet a fellow pilot in one of the locals. Theychat and the person gives them tips and advice.
这是个完全新人，做了点教程，在本地认识了其他几个人。有个大佬给了他一点建议，给了他一个配船方案然后塞给他两千万，
This person fits them a ship they using and so gives them the fit and 20mil to go buy the fit and sends them to Jita to get it. This person feels good about themselves and think they have createdand contributed to a new pilot of New Eden. This is repeated maybe every so often and so this pilot is feeling good aboutthemselves 然后带他去吉他买船。这个好心人觉得自己做了一件大好事，救助了一个新伊甸的落难萌新。他用这种方法帮助了很多萌新，所以他觉得自己真是个带好人。
Pilot B 萌新乙
Brand new to the game and does the new player tutorials and happens to meet a fellow pilot in one of the locals. Theychat and the person gives them tips, maybe a fitting for a ship that they need to work towards and explains how to flythat fitting and the pros and cons of it (basics).
一样是纯新人，做完教程，认识了几个其他蛋人。在聊天中有个热心人给了萌新建议，还顺手给了萌新一个装配方案，告诉他这船的优劣
They send them on their way but writes down the name and catches upwith them for the first week or so. "Hey how was your missions yesterday?", "How far are you with the tutorials?", "Howmuch you need to save to get the fitting I gave you?". A small bond or mentor ship starts. This pilot feels invested inmaking the new pilot succeed. They can see that as a pilot they are creating a pilot that will survive in the harshness ofeve going forward. The pilot then also gives the pilot a new fitting for a cruiser that the pilot needs to skill into and
跟他说这船怎么玩，并且之后还有联系。"昨天那任务咋样？教程做完了没”
Now you can clearly see that by doing both you are giving the pilot ISK. One is a simple here is 10-20 million now on your way while I feel good about myself for the month (I have done this in the past myself) or you can take a more helpful approach and mentor them and giving them small incentives to keep going at it. Carrot and Stick. 。大家可以明显的看出在这两个例子中我们都给了萌新isk。你可以给新人钱（我过去也这么做过），或者你可以用更好的方式教他们活下去
The issue with pilot A is that if you run the tutorial missions and then run some level 1 missions you will find you havingfun. You invested in the game and your mission to become whatever you want to become. You are happy to make 20k permission and bounty payments of 35k. You loot every wreck and OMG when you learn about salvaging... even more, ISK.This game is AMAZING"
甲事例中暴露的问题是，新人会从教程和1级任务中得到乐趣，他们为了自己的发展方向花时间做任务。任务的两万报酬和三万多的时间奖励会让新人快乐。他们打捞每一个残骸并在学习打捞中得到惊喜和ISK。他们会说："哇哦这游戏真好玩“。
By simply throwing 20 million at that new player, 2 things are happening. You teach them that making 20k or 35k amission is stupid. The fact you have to spend a day doing level 1 missions and salvage is a waste of your time because youcan simply say I'm new to this game and need help and could possibly get 20 million for it. (I made 150 mil in a weekdoing this.)
如果直接丢给新人两千万，你会教会新人一件事：那就是做任务挣个几万非常蠢，花一整天做一级任务和打捞简直是在浪费时间。 因为新人通过化缘就能轻松赚到两千万。 (我曾经用这个办法一周赚了1.5亿。）
I know that for us people with billions in our account that its pennies to give new players 20 million here and there.我知道对于我们这些兜兜里揣了好几十亿的老司机而言，给新人随便塞个两千万简直是洒洒水的事情。
They don't need your Isk, they need your help to fit a ship, to find a corp, they need a friend to hold their hand a little, they need a mentor.
但是他们不需要你的钱，他们需要的只是有人能教他们怎么配船，怎么找个好军团。他们需要的是一个能够带路的朋友，他们需要的是指导
Please, can we stop giving new bros Isk. Give them fittings for a ship you know will work and allow them to find the loveof the game first. Rewards are great ways to make them strive for the next thing but just showering them with Isk iskilling that excitement of the game for them. Getting your first million or 10 million or 100 million needs to be anachievement and not something you do in day 1.
各位，我们能不能别再给他们塞钱了呢？帮助他们搞一个十分有用的装配方案，先让他们爱上这款游戏。 给予他们奖励是让他们玩下去的好办法，但是用ISK给他们洗澡就是在抹杀他们的游戏乐趣 。挣到第一个一百万， 一千万和一个亿应该是让他们慢慢做的成就，而不是让他们第一天就搞定。
To add to this. We need to stop boosting new players in NPC missions. Rather than boosting them in your level 4, fit up afrigate and go join them in level 1 's. Fly with them and teach them.
我们还能做的，是停止揠苗助长。与其赶着他们去做四级任务，不如配条护卫，和他们一起做一级任务，教他们怎么玩。开四级任务不应该是一周搞定的事情，
Making new players your salvaging guy is great for isk but again it kills their love and excitement of learning the game.Opening up level 4 mission agents should not be done in a week and forcing them to go towards battleships while theynew and dont know the mechanics of the game should not be their journey.
让萌新跟着你们打捞确实能让他们挣钱，但是这也是个抹杀新人游戏乐趣和上手趣味的做法。在他们萌新时期还搞不懂机制的时候赶着他们开战列做四级也不是新人应该走的路子。
Be there for them. Do stuff with them. Don't fast track their journey to falling in love with this game. It hurts it more thenhelps it.
在新人需要帮助的时候伸出援手，不要试图通过加速他们的游戏进程使他们爱上这款游戏，这样的做法弊远大于利。

确实是这样的，我在of地狱开局的时候，也没用新人链接返点，啥都没有。然后我就开着护卫做任务，开着龙v跑npc贸易，一趟能赚上百w，中途做做探索任务，最后买了个实践养4级任务（当时α号还能做4级），一个月不到月卡有了，当时月卡15e。。。
