The animal that best represents Yan Xun: wolf
A wolfhas the characteristics of wildness, powerfulness, cruelty, loneliness andcoldness. A new born wolf cub is like cubs of other animals, full of innocenceand playfulness. This is just like Yan Xun in the early stage, without worries,, naughty and lovely, wandering around and play with others. And when this cubgradually grew up, he began to strengthen himself. He learned all the skillsfor survival. This is just like the middle stage of Yan Xun. Having witnessedthe death of his family, he realized that the only way to survive and get backeverything he had lost was to make himself more powerful. He endured everythingand stayed calm. He trained himself secretly. We can see he was not a boyanymore. He had become mature. Finally, no one dared tease him. He had becomethe king of the wolves. He was as cruel and fierce as the wolf in thewilderness. As Yu Wen Yue said, his power was great enough to destroyeverything!
The god beast that best represents Yan Xun: phoenix
Thisrefers to the phoenix in Greek mythology. It is a bird which never dies. Itwill be reborn after being burnt in flames. Yan Xun is also a man who wasreborn after bathing in flames and blood. He was like the phoenix. No matterhow his body was burnt, he would struggle to survive. He was tough and hisvitality was stunning, especially in the scene of Jiu You Tai, in which he wasseriously injured but stood up unyieldingly again and again. This reminds me ofthe phoenix in Greek mythology. Both of them start a new life in crisis andtheir lives never end!
The plant that best represents Yan Xun: Plum blossom
“The plum blossoms will not be fragrant without experiencing extreme coldness.” Plumblossoms are one of the few plants that bloom beautifully in winter. Its beautyand fragrance come from its perseverance in the chilling snow. Yan Xununderstood his duty because of the last words of his mother. He understood thathe still had a lot of things to accomplish. He was not allowed to be weak andgive up. No matter how depressed and hopeless, he had to force himself to standup. Yan Xun in the middle age was enduring, never gave up under differenttortures and desperation. He was like the plum blossom. The colder heexperienced, the more beautifully he bloomed.

Purpleis the common colour in his clothing. It is very suitable for him. Purple isthe mixture of red and blue. Red stands for unrestrained, splendid and lively. This is like the Yan Xun at the beginning of the story, who was as passionateand unrestrained as the red sun. Blue is the colour of coldness and grief. Thisis like the Yan Xun in the later stage. Having experienced all kinds ofcatastrophes, he lost the ability to smile. He was not passionate anymore, instead, he was steady, calm, self-hidden and full of grief. These two stagesshow a great contrast of the character.
