Infinitode 2 development news
There were no news for a long time because I was working on the desynchronization bugs. A lot of work was done and almost all possible ways were tried to find the error but in the end I decided to postpone it.
Current game state:
- Single player seems to be free of bugs
- ...but server-side games validation fails in 1/13 of games (most of them last for 30+ minutes, usually on user maps) and it results in different leader boards score (sometimes it is even larger than in local game). Maybe it is something platform-dependent and will be eventually fixed, we can call it "Heisenbug" (300+ games were checked in real time when testers were playing and... none of them caused any desynchronization). But let's talk about more pleasant things.
- All features are implemented and well-tested by 5,000 testers. Thank you, guys, good job!
- 37 of 44 story line levels added
- ...and it is enough to unlock almost every research which equals 100+ hours of gameplay
Infinitode 2 release roadmap:
- Add Portuguese translations (PT_br, ready and will be added in the next update)
- Fix some minor errors in Spanish localization (all glory belongs to Julio César Ortiz González)
- Make Researches screen visible from the start of the game. Researches are available only after level 2.1 is unlocked and I'm afraid many players will abandon the game even before they try them out. If you have any better ideas please write them in comments, but remember that Advinas gets the opportunity to improve itself only after level 2.1.
- Prepare everything for the release (just walk through the code and make sure everything looks good)
And I'm going to do this in a day or two, so...
Game will be released for sure on May 30.
It will make Infinitode 2 available on Google Play for everyone for free and players will get an ability to review it (pleeease do not kill it with bad reviews, better write me directly and say it in the face - at least I can help or explain everything). If you have already left a review on Google Play I'll be glad if you do it once again (because alpha & beta reviews are visible only to the dev), I'll try to read and respond to every single one.
Game will get new updates after the release:
- Last 7 story line levels with the last Boss
- Community maps
- Last few Researches (with Developer & Infinity mode) and Towers (Flamethrower & Laser which are already implemented and tested)
- Season / weekly quests with unique rewards
- Community translations on site (because nobody will do it better than players)
- Tiles with effects (Special tab; just like Bases but can be upgraded and will allow players to more flexibly configure their maps)
- Decorative tiles (for pixel art / music visualization)
- Passive abilities (!). My thoughts on them: will use 2 slots of normal Abilities and can be selected for any game. Appear as unique loot and unlock new researches to upgrade them just like regular Abilities. Will give very unique effects (like "LVL20 unlocks 4-th ability of any tower" / "all explosions get Shrapnel effect" / "loot quality ++ but difficulty grows up"...)
- More interesting item boxes with unique items
- Custom skins and music
- Many QOL features like "fast upgrade button" or "screenshot mode" at the end of each game
(too many more ideas tbh, just stay up to the news)
So...
Infinitode 2 coming in 2 days (and honestly I'm nervous).
Waiting for you all at the opening!
