Can I ask questions about new card in WAR?
In my opponent's turn, I cast Merfolk Trickster and tap Gideon Blackblade. What will he become? A Planeswalker with no loyalty ability?
In my opponent's turn, I cast Merfolk Trickster and target Gideon Blackblade after he attacks. Will Gideon still attack and deal damage? Can he be blocked? Or he will be removed from combat immediately?

Thanks for your questions. Luckily, the Release Notes (just published today) have you covered:
> If an effect causes Gideon to lose all abilities during your turn, he's still a Human Soldier creature and a Gideon planeswalker.
This is because of how layers work. We apply type changing effects in Layer 4, but we don't add or remove abilities until Layer 6. Even after the Trickster's ability resolves, Gideon will still be a 4/4 creature planeswalker. He loses his loyalty abilities, indestructible, and the ability that prevents damage that would be dealt to him. If Gideon is attacking, he will still be attacking and will deal and receive damage like a normal creature.

If you activate Gideon’s third ability and then damage is dealt to him that can’t be prevented, that damage has all applicable results: specifically, the damage is marked on Gideon (since he’s a creature) and that damage causes that many loyalty counters to be removed from him (since he’s a planeswalker). If Gideon has no loyalty counters on him, he’s put into his owner’s graveyard as a state-based action. (As long as he still has indestructible, the marked damage won’t cause him to be destroyed.)
