four-dollar word 应该是个俚语，网上没有，但是有ten-dollar word，而且是英文，也没有直接说这个俚语到底是什么意思。（意思好像是说，故意使用艰涩难懂的词汇……）
关于这一用法，中文网上似乎都没有解释，哪位大神帮帮忙，谢谢

用一些很深奥的词汇 的意思

GRE 词汇一般都是这种，俞敏洪说的“上帝都需要背的词汇”，比如：

就是拽文的使用明明有常用的词，非要用个生僻词来显水平呗，比如你说他老挤兑我，你说他老揶揄我，可能就会造成一些人听不懂，你又显得有文化（至少是自己觉得）
很多俗语的数字都不重要
比如 six ways to sunday，这个six有人说5，有人说7，有人说100还有人说1千1万，但是意思都是一样的
