苹果定制版CPU没有散热罩(无IHS)
双CPU的Mac Pro 从E5520到X5690安装都没有问题。只有2009款需要在CPU周围的四个定位柱上加上一个约2mm的M4螺丝垫片,同时在主板CPU边上的一排感应器也需要重新贴上5mm厚的散热硅胶垫片。

CPU主板外貌,CPU插槽周围有四个固位引导柱
在定位引导柱上加2mm厚的垫片可以抬高散热器的高度,防止过度压迫CPU

散热器边脊上的粉红色的硅胶散热片也要更换或者垫高2mm
主要材料工具:
1、5mm厚的硅胶散热片(Silicon thermal pad with 5mm thick or a little less)
散热硅胶垫片(5mm厚)Silicon thermal pad with 5mm thick
关于这个散热片,一般都是有粘性的软质硅胶,有一定的可塑性,在受到外力作用时可适当变形,升级过程中我发现,其实只要大约4mm左右的厚度就可以满足要求,如果是5mm厚,适当施加压力后它会变形来适应这个间隙,也是没有问题的,所以在购买硅胶散热片的时候,最好不要购买那种比较硬没有粘弹性的那种,另外,如果你购买2mm厚的也没有问题,直接加在原来那块粉红色的散热片上即可。
2. 1mm厚的M4规格的螺丝垫片若干(一般内径在4.1到4.3mm外径9mm左右都没有问题)M4 washers with 1mm thick, (Inner diameter about 4.1 to 4.3mm and outer diameter not bigger than 9mm should be fine)

4. 9cm长3mm规格的内六角平头螺丝刀(不要用球头的)3mm flat head hex wrench with 9cm length, don't use the wrench with ball head in case of damaging the screws

5. 游标卡尺,简单的就行
6. 裁纸刀一把
7. 棉棒及不掉纤维的卫生纸若干

拆下散热器的时候原装的CPU会跟着带出来(When you remove the heatsink away, you would find the processor be pulled out with the heatsink directly, so you must pay attention and manipulate this procedure carefully)
小心取下CPU,这个时候就该用到那个Arctic的清洁套装了,先用卫生纸把散热器底部铜板上的散热膏擦掉,再用Arctic清洁液清洁至镜面般光洁,顺便把拆下来的CPU清洁干净。然后把散热器边脊上的粉红色硅胶散热片撕下来,放在你购买的硅胶散热片上照着大小尺寸切一片5mm厚的,放置在原来硅胶片放置的地方(后来我又拆装了几次,发现5mm厚略微有点高,不过散热硅胶有相当的可塑性,在压力下可以变形适应,如果你买的是很硬变形比较差的散热片,可以适当降低散热片的厚度,大约4mm也是合适的)。
撕下原先粉红色的散热片,换上5mm厚的硅胶散热片(Removing the original thermal pad completely, and placing the new silicon thermal pad on the same place of the ridge of the heatsink, or, you also can stack a 2mm thick thermal pad on the original one)
把你购买的M4螺丝垫片选两片一共2mm厚的垫片套进CPU插槽四周的四个定位杆上

加2mm厚的M4螺丝垫片在引导柱上,抬高散热器的高度(Stacking 2 M4 washers together to make 2mm thick to increase the height of the heatsink, in case of damaging the processor because of too much pressure loading on)
把散热器角上的风扇插头前后的三个卡脚切掉(一面2个,另外一面1个),把它从散热器固位孔往下推出去,然后把它取出来再切掉靠里侧下端的两个卡脚,再把它放进散热器固位孔里往外完全推出来,这样它就相当于被推出了2mm左右(插头下端靠近外侧还有个方形的卡脚不要切掉,否则它就没有办法固定在固位孔上了,散热器就位往下压的时候,它就退进去了,无法合适的插在主板上的插槽里。
This procedure is very important and a little bit difficult, if you don't modify the connector, it wouldn't contact the socket on the board property because you had already increased the height of the heatsink before. The connector has 3 clips above (2 clips on the outer side and 1 clip on the inner side) and 3 clips beneath (inner side with 2 small clips and outer side with one like a square frame as show at the pictures below). You should remove all the clips above completely and then push the connector inside to make it out of the retainer of the heatsink, take off the connector and remove the 2 small clips below, after you have finished this procedure, you should place the connector back to the retainer and pull the connector totally on the above side of the retainer(as before modifying, the square frame size clip is beneath the retainer,now it would be on the above side of the retainer).

把它抽出来后看到电源线那面还有两个卡脚,左侧的方形卡脚不要切掉
处理好后再放回固位孔内如图所示
接着就是放置新CPU,对准插槽轻轻放下即可,它的方向是固定的,看准了再放下去,然后在它的散热罩上面均匀涂布一层Arctic Silver 5散热膏(这个散热膏随包装带有一个塑料小铲子的,可以用它来涂散热膏)。弄好后就把散热器放回去就好了,放的时候先对准散热风扇的主板插槽,先把插头半就位,然后把主板上的那四个固位柱子对着散热器底部的四个孔轻轻放下就好了,然后就是固定刚好拧松的四颗螺丝,也是象拆卸的方法一样,依次逐个半圈半圈的拧紧,全部弄好后再拆换另外那个CPU,全部两个CPU我都换好的时候花费了两个多小时,拍照花了点时间,做一下拍一下还是蛮费时间的,拍的时候还要略微布置一些背景的,加上心情紧张,操作也比较慢,操作的时候脑海里一遍遍的闪回anandtech.com网站那个CPU插槽针脚损坏的图片,弄的我蛮紧张的。
