办公室蜗居族：我们是“隔间老大”
我们的办公室是一个大大的cube farm，每个人都有一个固定的隔间。我们工作的大部分时间都是在那个小小的隔间里面度过的，在那里，我们都是cube jockey。
Cube jockey is an office worker who sits in a cubicle all day and is most likely destined to spend the rest of their career in one. They may spend most of their day surfing the net, playing computer games, or checking personal emails when the boss isn't looking.
Cube jockey(隔间老大)指工作时间整天坐在办公室小隔间里的职员，他们余下的职业生涯或许也要在隔间里度过了。老板不在的时候，他们可能大部分时间都在上网、玩游戏或者查看私人邮件。

“隔间老大”们都应该趁着午餐时间站起来走动走动，不然就该长胖，身材走样了。

什么是“爱尔兰式告别”？
同学聚会的时候，有人不辞而别。集体聚餐的时候，有人借故去洗手间却没有再露面。这样的情况大概不少人都遇上过，在英语里，这种不辞而别叫做Irish Goodbye。
An Irish Goodbye is when a person leaves a bar or party or other gathering surreptitiously, without saying goodbye to anyone.
“爱尔兰式告别”（Irish Goodbye）指不跟任何人告别、偷偷离开酒吧或者其他聚会场所的行为。
偷偷从后门溜走、“去车里取东西”然后一去不回，以及去趟卫生间就消失不见等行为都属于“爱尔兰式告别”。基本上，采用这种告别形式是为了避免尴尬，或者不想引发告别时的情绪起伏以及面颊吻别等客套礼节。
关于“爱尔兰式告别”这个表达的来源，倒是没有一个明确的说法。有人说这个短语来源于1845－1852年爱尔兰大饥荒时期，很多爱尔兰人从家乡逃到美国。当时，两国的距离和科技手段意味着一旦去了美国，他们就是永远离开，不会再有机会跟家乡的亲人和朋友联络。这种告别是突然又决然的。
新潮流：咖啡办公室
很多人都会在咖啡馆看书、上网，或者见朋友，大多是因为那里氛围好、有无线网络，或者仅仅是喜欢那种小资情调。在韩国，人们把这种潮流发挥到了极致：他们把咖啡馆当成办公室来用。
Coffice, a portmanteau term of coffee shop and office, is used in South Korea to describe how coffee shops are used for work, study and socializing. Coffice is a coffee shop habitually used as an office by customers, who mooch its space, electricity, Wi-Fi and other resources. Presumably, they pay for the coffee.
Coffice（咖啡办公室）是韩国很流行的一个合成词（咖啡馆＋办公室），指咖啡馆在工作、学习或者社交活动中常常被用到。被称为coffice的咖啡馆会被一些顾客习惯性地当成办公室来用，他们蹭着咖啡馆的空间，电力、无线宽带以及其他资源。而他们这样做的理由，想必是因为他们已经为那里的咖啡买了单吧。

咱们下午两点在我常去办公的咖啡馆见面吧。这是那里的地址。
海绵一样的“寄生人”
近几年，“啃老族”这个词时不时都会被拿出来讨论一阵。说的是年轻一代经济上不能自立，还要靠家人的资助才能生活。我们今天要说的这类人，他们不只啃老，而是只要有可利用的资源他们就啃，是完全不劳而获的“寄生人”。
A sponger is a person who lives off other people by continually taking advantage of their generosity. A sponge soaks up the water all around it. A sponger soaks up gifts, food and money without working.
Sponger(“寄生人”)指利用别人的慷慨、完全依赖别人的供给生活的人。之所以叫sponger，是因为sponge(海绵)会吸干它周围所有的水分，而这些“寄生人”就像海绵一样吸纳各种馈赠、食物和钱财，却不曾付出一分。

There were a bunch of spongers with cars and designer labels, eating in expensive restaurants all paid for by Daddy.
有那么一群“寄生人”，开着好车、穿着名牌、在高档餐馆就餐，而所有这一切都由他们的好爸爸买单。
滴酒不沾的人 teetotaler
你身边有滴酒不沾的人吗？无论什么场合，人家只选择白水或者饮料，绝对不靠近酒精饮品。这样的人在英语里是有特定称呼的，他们叫做teetotaler。
Teetotalism refers to either the practice of or the promotion of complete abstinence from alcoholic beverages. A person who practices (and possibly advocates) teetotalism is called a teetotaler or is simply said to be teetotal.
禁酒主义（teetotalism）指践行或推广禁止饮用酒精饮料的做法，实践（或提倡）禁酒主义的人就叫做teetotaler（滴酒不沾的人，禁酒人士）。
Some common reasons for choosing to be a teetotaler are religious, health, family, fear of gastric or social reasons, and, sometimes, as simply a matter of taste or preference. When at drinking establishments, teetotallers either abstain from drinking or consume non-alcoholic beverages such as tea, coffee, water, juice, soft drinks and mocktails.

PS和美颜应用造就的“假面时代”
在微博和微信转一圈，你可能会发现到处都是美女帅哥，每张照片放大来看都是那么完美无暇。难道真的是人类基因优化了吗？喔，这个也不是没有可能。不过，据说网络照片有80％以上都是经过PS美化处理的。
PS generation describes the phenomenon that many people would like to polish their photos to perfection with Photoshop software before uploading them to social networking websites or microblogs, which may show others a man-made beautiful image but at the same time might become a target of online mock too. And frequent application of Photoshop may also lead to a tendency of pretence in daily life, keeping everything real to oneself and pretending to be someone else all the time.
“假面时代”（PS generation）专指多数人将照片用PS软件处理过后才上传到社交网站或微博等网络平台。假面时代除了向人展示伪装后的美丽外表，有时还有可能成为网友恶搞的对象。而习惯伪装照片的背后，很多人更开始伪装自己的言谈举止，把真实的自己隐藏起来，整天以假面示人。
