以下为Google“Will plague infect cats?”结果,仅供参考:
The parasitic genus Yersinia pestis causes the bacterial disease referred to as plague. This condition occurs worldwide. In the United States, it is predominantly found in the southwest between the months of May and October. Carriers of this disease include rats, squirrels and mice; the disease is typically transmitted when a rodent either bites, or is bitten by a cat.
The infection travels rapidly to the lymph nodes, where white blood cells are produced. The resulting reaction from the lymph nodes is a rapid multiplication of white cells, abnormal fluid build up with swelling, and possible skin breakage. Cats infected with plague will experience fever, inflammation, and excessive pain due to the lymph nodes being chronically swollen.
Outdoor cats are most affected, with males predominating due to their tendency to roam. However, there are no gender or breed boundaries for susceptibility to the plague.

Yersinia pestis infection causes what is commonly known as “plague” in mammals. It is carried by all types of rodents. Often, rodent fleas will spread the disease by feeding on an infected animal, transferring to another animal, and regurgitating infected tissue into the new animal. It can also be spread through bites, scratches, or coughs and sneezes from an infected animal, although this is less common. Cats are extremely susceptible to Y. pestis.
Fleas are the most common carrier of plague in mammals. Only rodent fleas carry Y. pestis. It should be noted that in areas where rodent fleas are common, dog and cat fleas are not common, and vice versa. All known causes are listed below. Infected rodent flea bites Mouth and nose exposure to infected rodents Hunting and eating infected rodents (primarily squirrels) Contact with another infected mammal (rare) Roaming in an infected area
Dogs and cats may also bring plague-infected fleas into the home. Flea bite exposure may result in primary bubonic plague or septicemic plague.
Cats are particularly susceptible to plague, and can be infected by eating infected rodents. Sick cats pose a risk of transmitting infectious plague droplets to their owners or to veterinarians. Several cases of human plague have occurred in the United States in recent decades as a result of contact with infected cats.

猫的抵抗力比人强,主要是猫科新陈代谢比人强,不过鼠疫菌浓度高,猫一样会死。欧洲后来的西班牙大流感也是这样,人死的多了,疫情自动就消失了。
