Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne are the two remaining One Direction members who have yet to release a solo album, but it appears Tomlinson's might not be too far away. The oldest of the boy band tweeted Tuesday (Apr. 3) that his first LP is "all [he's] been working towards over the last two years."
Although Tomlinson didn't reveal how close the project is to finished or anything about an actual release date, he seems more than eager for the time to come. "Can't wait for the day to finally release this album," he wrote.
Since 1D began their hiatus in December 2015, each member has ventured into their individual, distinct solo careers. Zayn Malik, who departed from the band first in March 2015, dropped jaws with the infectiously sexy "Pillowtalk." Niall Horan took a more acoustic approach with his album Flicker, while Payne showed his hip-hop side with single "Strip That Down." Harry Styles ruled last summer by topping the Billboard 200 in June with his self-titled debut, as well as scoring an acting role in the Oscar-winning drama Dunkirk.
As for Tomlinson, he's been leaning more into the dance-pop market, teaming up with Steve Aoki for his debut single, "Just Hold On." He has since released three more singles: the Bebe Rexha-assisted "Back to You" -- which marked Tomlinson's highest Billboard Hot 100 peak yet at No. 40 -- and solo tracks "Just Like You" and "Miss You."

In January, Tomlinson assured fans his perfectionism was slowing down the album process.
